How do you think he's gonna fare? Some goo solid analysis would be greatly appreciated as most guys on this forum are much more well versed in BJJ than I.

I guess it depends which division he enters but i'm sure he won't suck. Olympic level wrestlers that have enough jiu jitsu experience to understand sub defense and sweeps like Askren does will be a force. Mix in the fact that he has the conditioning of a pro mma fighter and that makes him even more tough.

Askren does more than understand basic sub defense and sweeps my friend, really looking forward to seeing him against top level guys.

What belt division is he entering? Does he have a belt in bjj?

Are you sure he's competing? He hasn't signed up yet.

Anybody know what weight he's gonna compete at? He might be in my division....

he said on his twitter today, that he's going to compete. hope he does well!

Awsome.

It would be so cool to face him in the openweight division.

Of course that would require me placing in my division first, which is far from a sure thing

If he enters purple belt I think he will win it. The man is an Olympian and trains full time.

If he enters purple, he wins. He beat a blackbelt at ADCC 2009, I believe, and he must have smashed a few high level guys to qualify.

Can somebody give me a rundown on this guy?
I've seen his name suddenly popping up with him rolling Jake Shields, Marcelinho, etc...

So.. he's an olympic level wrestler?
