Belt should have a 6-8 month timer. If you can't defend even because of Legit Injury reason, too bad!

Tired of this Interim belt crap...Tired of Conor holding the title just because the UFC wants to advertise him as a champ.

It's a fucking disgrace.

Yeah, how dare Conor take a break from the belt to give us the #1 and #2 biggest UFC PPVs of all time

I agree. If fighters like Cowboy and Holloway can do it then there's no reason that champions can't.

Yeah paper champs are awesome...

Aldo alone would have been stripped like 4 times under that rule.

I disagree for this reason.

Anderson didn't defend his title for a year twice when he moved up to fight Forrest Griffin and Stephen Bonnar.

Do I give a shit? Em I a fucking UFC investor or something? Perhaps you guys are, but I am not.

Fact is that Conor tapped.....got destroyed and didn't deserve the rematch.

The rematch happened, but thats enough, he does not deserve eddie.

Let Aldo fight him, or Conor should just leave the belt.

The problem with this is you end up devaluing the championship. If the best guy in the division isn't holding the belt, the belt becomes kinda meaningless

Belts should always be on the line.
Even outside the octagon. If you're a UFC fighter in the same weight class and manage to get within 10 meters of the champ and a challenge is issued...the fight is on.

Woodley loses the belt in a mall food court.

Stipe defends the belt at fire station.

Conor loses the belt at Walmart.

100% this.

Mandatory challengers would kill the UFC.

Bisping is champion & Hendo is challenging.

What UFC title prestige are these people protecting?
