I just went to go order the PPV and see when the prelims started on Spike TV, only to notice that of course the prelims are tape-delayed and thus playing at the SAME TIME as the PPV.

What a screw up. In this age not having live sports is laughable in the first place. But having your PPV play at the same time as the prelims on spike (which also lyingly say LIVE on the info) is a recipe for disaster.

Asking people to order a PPV is already a huge task, but can you imagine how many confused people are just going to watch the 8-10 PM PST prelims thinking it's the main fights?

I guarantee you this is going to lose them PPV's. I'll still order but it's pretty ridiculous I can't watch the prelims until after I finish watching the main card.

Also on a side-note I have comcast which is the most common service in my area.

Rant over. Had to get that off my chest as tape-delays are IMO one of the biggest things holding Bellator back.

after all these years... STILL on Tape Delay.

Bellator needs to leave SpikeTV. And other Combat sports organizations need to leave Spike as well.

what a waste.

man, that is awful. That's too bad.

I have Comcast and it's in HD.

You're lucky.. in the UK the main card's on tape delay FOR A FUCKING WEEK! Even with McGeary headlining the biggest Bellator event ever, they're not broadcasting it until next Sat. How stupid can you be.

Yeah it really does suck. I was really pumped about watching all the fights too with some friends.

And it's really weird, I mean sadly I once ordered that PPV that had McCorkle and Karo on it and even that was in HD. I can't really blame Bellator for that I feel like Comcast screwed up or something.

Oh thanks a bunch man. I feel like an idiot. They moved the HD channel to 454 for some reason used to be on 804 and the regular PPV is still on 803.

That's why I was confused but thanks again I found it.

is there a reason why they do tape delay? is it easier? cheaper? fuck the West Coast that's why?

My cable has it listed at 5:00 which is right.

They have replays. You can watch and then buy the PPV after. They usually play back to back and shit like that

Yeah. What a fucking fail they don't even start until 8 over here.

Watch the prelims online! I believe Bellator said that all of their prelims (even the ones on Spike) would be available on Spike.com. I believe they said they would be commercial free too. Just try to find out what time they start eastern time and calculate what time it would be for you. Isn't it 4 hours behind? I believe the prelims for us on the east coast start at 8. (The ones with Held, Sha-Guerreiro, and Richman-Yamauchi).

We are 3 hours behind. Should start 5:00pm Pacific Time and 8pm Eastern.

Thanks for the info. But I was having friends over and my computer is too far away from my TV to hook it up to play on there.

But I think I'll be able to catch the first couple on there if that's true. Thanks man.

It may just be the guide that is wrong as well. I would check Spike at 5 see if the fights started. That has happened to me more than once. The guide said Ironman and the fights were actually on.

Just checked my guide and theyre playing cops reruns instead of the live prelims
lol great job Viacom

Yeah, I try to catch the fights every friday, but seem to always miss them. I'm gonna be buying the PPV though.. and probably bellator.com

It's SpikeTV that's the problem, not entirely Bellator's. For Bellator to be aired live on the west coast, Viacom will likely have to purchase the airtime and, depending on what Spike charges for that airtime, it may not be worth it for Viacom to pay. I'm not making excuses for them as Viacom is a billion dollar company but just saying that's likely the reason why Bellator aint aired live on the west.

What do you think I am saying...... It's like cmon Bjork treat us west coasters with some freaking respect. SMDH Geez!

I for sure will. But I'm almost 100% sure it's right. As every bellator card ever has been tape-delayed where I live.

Really grinds my gears. Used to have to go through the same thing with strikeforce cards.

Main reason I don't watch spike events, fucking spike sucks.
I think direct TV shows bellator live on the west coast, but I got Cox cable, its bull shit I can never watch live.

That's the price we pay for living on the best coast.

Damn right.

Except I hate when people relate Tupac to the West Coast. The guy grew up in New York and didn't move to California until 1988 when he was 18.

Then of course he died at 25, so he lived a total of 7-years in California. Not much at all even relative to how long he lived.

In addition, his first album was released in 1991 meaning he was "repping" the west coast despite spending very little time there. Less than 3-years.

If any rapper tried to do that today people would all call him lame and a poser.

That's my off-topic rant of the day.
