Bellator 192
Bellator MMA
The scope and reach of Bellator MMA has increased to Southeast Asia. Indeed, the mixed martial arts (MMA) league recently distributed a press release to announce that Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) would assume the rights held by Electus International to air Bellator MMA in Southeast Asia effective immediately.

As a result, Paramount Channel will be the exclusive home to Bellator in the region starting in Jan. 2018, which covers subscribers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Pacific Islands, among other Southeast Asian territories.

“Subscribers can soon enjoy exclusive linear broadcast transmission of Bellator’s world championship events from venues around the world. There is also the potential of further collaboration with Bellator to stage fight events in Asia in future.”

That’s not all. Paras Sharma, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Asia, had this to say about the newly-announced deal.

“The introduction of Bellator MMA on Paramount Channel is significant as we are amplifying Paramount’s focus on distinctive high-quality programming, offering viewers exclusive fight sports entertainment in addition to movies of various genres. More importantly, with the flourishing MMA scene and appetite for fight content in Southeast Asia, this addition can’t be more timely as we bring the pure adrenaline of Bellator to many MMA fans in the region.”

In before an interview with ONE Championship CEO is released where he talks about how they blow Bellator out of the water in SEAsia, before Bellator is even shown on tv there.

they could put on some events there as well, maybe even work with local promotions like they do those events with BAMMA

Yeah unlike popular belief bellator is still growing.

I always thought it was already shown in some areas over there.....

Sounds like they bought the current media distributor in the area out and going to air it themselves so it can be shown on there own network Paramount that must have reached a deal with cable companies over there to air the channel.

I guess good for them. Now we can bitch more about tape delayed events from over there in the future.

People bitch no matter what Bellator does lmfao

WAR BELLATOR HAHA!

Do you really think that a live 11 am broadcast of Lima vs. Macdonald is gonna suddenly galvanize the Austronesian audience in a way that ONE was never able to, though?

I see what I did went over your head.

Great, more tape delayed cards.

I got it, and I'm saying your little jab at ONE was silly because they have every reason to gloat about their comparative presence in Southeast-Asia, especially since the only hope Bellator has to change it in the near future are 11 am on a Saturday morning broadcasts of Lima vs. Macdonald to several homes in Guam.

Dont really see Bellator going to Asia, think they are focused on parts of Europe.

Shocked they havent gone to Brazil, they have a tv deal there and some legit Brazilian fighters.

Pitbull brothers, Wandy, Dantas. I'm sure Vitor will end up in Bellator after his last UFC fight.

Wandy/Vitor with Pitbull brothers and Dantas etc on the card would be perfect. Thats what they should be doing.

BELLATOR IS COMING TO SOUTHEAST ASIAn television

Thread title is such a tease, I thought we were going to be able to see events here

Fuck yeah. Now Southeast Asia can watch tape delayed Sakara headlined events like the rest of us.

Bellator are a shit-tier promotion outside of America.

The solution to this is to air it live then re-air in the usual slot. I hope Paramount network brings these changes but I'm not optimistic since ratings haven't been great
