Yikes. Maybe they should of stayed on lockdown a bit longer.
Is that good?
No surprise. Card was trash and marketing was poor. Bellator needs to do better. No excuses, it just has to be better.
i added the source to the initial post which also has yearly average comparisons. getting pretty ugly for bellator.
Not surprised, look who’s running the org.
I wonder what @RODNEY83 thinks of these numbers
Yeah it's crazy to see it run so poorly. They had a good thing not too long ago.
Bellator going the Top Rank on espn route. This are really bad numbers. Very little promo, tape delayed on the west coast.
Bellator had some momentum years ago signing fighters, getting some decent ratings with Kimbo and others but man they've fallen off a cliff in last few years.
I honestly have no idea how to watch Bellator cards, are they still on Spike?
I couldn’t imagine many people watching a Bellator card over UFC, especially one with such a poor main event.
Bellator lost part of its public perception with Bellator 149. Same thing happened with RIZIN in the West after Garcia vs Hotta, but that is expected with Japan.
lol they jumped the shark with that Kimbo vs Dada bullshit. It was all downhill from there.
There are plenty of commentors like @Kb7 and @GueseGuy and @MMALOPEZ that are stating the numbers are poor, so you don't need my opinion of what others have already stated..
That was their best year....
Sounds like they need to go back to putting circus fights on
You have a point, Bellator 149 averaged 2.5 million viewers. That amount doubles the combined viewership of Bellator's 2020 schedule (3 events) so far.
They should sign that Paul Logan guy for an mma fight against CM Punk
We got our contract a month In advance I think. Idk why they waited so long to announce things, a lot of these fighters are great at promoting themselves and their fights. If the company isn’t doing the leg work then let the fighters do it
The reason it was not over 300k is No Tyrell Fortune!
The build up that Bellator did for Kimbo Slice vs Dada 5000 was big. Bellator decision makers went out and advertised that Bellator 149 card big time and haven't built up any Bellator fight card like that since. The matchup was also intriguing. Bellator had a chance for that type of build up with Paul Daley vs MVP, but failed by epic proportions by having the fight card in Connecticut and not in England and by not having it on Paramount and having no real build up. Bellator had a chance when Minakov returned to Bellator. But missed a golden opportunity to build up the undefeated returning Bellator Heavyweight Champion to take on the new Bellator Heavyweight Champion and Bellator Heavyweight Tournament winner. Bellator simply needs to stop missing great opportunities to do it Big.
Kimbo v DD5K scared Coker off freakshows. BIG MISTAKE. He needs to go back to that because that is what made Bellator great.
