Bellator 216: MVP vs. Daley, 7:30 PM ET Prelims/10 PM ET Main Card PBP Discussion Thread

Bellator pulled a Bellator with those judges decisions at Bellator 216. I felt Paul Daley won. As MVP showed against Fernando Gonzalez, he has no clue of any offense when his opponent is patient and doesn't rush in in a stupid manner. MMA judges is how a sport loses fans.

...if you have an issue with MMA judges, you need to look at the commissions. The judges are not employed by Bellator.

Did MVP ever make a statement about his father's rape and molestation charges?

Seriously. It's pretty rare that I kind of regret even watching a card when it is over and i felt that way about tonight and last night's bellator card.
Indeed. But hopefully tomorrows fights makes up for this snooze fest. They should unleash tigers into the cage when this shit happens

Well of course it will be better. A Bellator card is just a mixture of retirees and 2nd tier bums.

Page was a lot faster than him. Daley knew.

yes, even I was surprised as to how fast MVP was. Daley may not have a ridiculous arsenal himself, but he's always done alright on the feet vs anyone. MVP was beating him to the punch each time they threw. Only a matter of time until he hit him clean enough

Yep. In that sense, this fight is a credit to Page. In the sense that he was wrestlefucked for half the fight by Paul Daley, it wasn't. Page is a specialist, and specialists are fun to watch. He'll lose some fights to competent wrestlers, but he can notch some big wins with his striking. Bellator needs to unleash this guy for better and for worse.

I agree. It's why people get excited when Maia is able to get someone to the ground. Because he is a specialist. And they will make some crazy shit happen.

MVP may never become a top level WW and beat the likes of a guy like Woodley for example, but, if he can have some good knockouts along the way, I'll be happy to watch him fight. He's a talent for sure

Read please and comprehend, my statement actually reads MMA judges not Bellator judges. I actually state MMA judges

God that was tedious and I really didn't want to give it to either guy. I thought Daley edged it personally for what it's worth but the fight itself was utter dog shit.

I'm also not going to sit and argue the result with anyone I have zero emotions about this fight and couldn't care less who won that poop fest.

Daley tryin to wrestle and even got beat there.

Dude was grabbing at ankles from a mile away. He got stuffed to his face several times then maybe he gets a clinch to a TD and does zero damage with it.

Glad MVP won. Bitch ass fight from Daley. Dude was looking to duck and hold all night.

The card was a let down. But the longer I think about it the more I like D1 Daley. It just doesn't get any better than that. Paul Daley, of all human beings on God's green earth just attempted to lay and pray his way to victory. Yes, the fight was boring, but his strategy was so absurd as to be awe-inspiring. And MVP won essentially because when he reversed position he was busier and more aggressive from the top. If he had pulled off the sub it would have been sublime.

ADCC Daley when he fought Woodley was better.

It was interesting to watch though. I think Daley was actually trying to posture up and throw bombs from the top but he's just really bad at controlling. If he went for the LNP he probably could have kept position and win round 5.
