Card is pretty meh aside from the top two fights. Whitemare fight could be entertaining. But rest is pretty weak.

After watching the "In Focus" videos from Bellator, I'm actually alot more excited for bubba vs georgi than I was when it was first announced.

Strange Bubba is the favorite.. although bookies don't really seem to know squat when it comes to fighters outside of UFC
 
Fabricio Guerreiro and Nick Piedmont won’t compete at Friday night’s Bellator 132 in Temecula, but the Brazilian fighter spread the wrong reasons on his Instagram page.

The Brazilian featherweight said that the California State Athletic Commission denied his opponent a license to compete at the event on Jan. 16, but Andy Foster, the CSAC executive director, told MMAFighting.com that Piedmont is currently suspended by Pascua Yaqui Tribe Boxing Commission until March 6.

"Mr. Piedmont is currently serving a suspension from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe Boxing Commission and that suspension does not end until March 6, 2015 so CSAC could not issue a license to a fighter on suspension," Foster said via e-mail.

"The promotion was aware of this suspension for several weeks and they sought unsuccessfully to find a replacement for Mr. Guerreiro to compete against. Bellator did not submit any potential opponents for me to review so CSAC could approve or deny sanctioning on the proposed bout. Currently, Mr. Guerreiro is still on the proposed bout card without an opponent."

Bellator officials told MMAFighting.com that Guerreiro won’t compete at the event because they "weren’t able to find a replacement suitable the week of the fight". The promotion also confirmed that Guerreiro, who hasn’t fought since a first-round submission victory over Shahbulat Shamhalaev in May, won't be paid now that the fight was pulled from the event.
 
I like all 4 fights tbh. I have Gonzalez beating Zaromskis, and I think it will be a very entertaining fight.

Zwicker/Houston - could at least be a decent finish

Bubba/Georgi - I have no idea why this fight is being overlooked, this is an extremely interesting fight.

Pitbull/Straus - It's pitubull, need I say more?


Pre lims are a little weak, but the Jacoby fight could be fun.
 
they knew several weeks out but couldnt find a replacement? Not like he was fighting a top FW, they could have easily brought in a similar squash opponent for him to beat.

now he wont get paid. Thats pretty shitty. Do what UFC did with Hall, brought in someone for him Hall to smash, he gets showcased and gets paid and then can move on to bigger opponent.

They spend unnecessary server cost and miss out on building their brand to casual/international/hardcore fans!!
 
been WAY TOO long since the last one. very excited. Can't wait for bubba/georgi and pitbulls first title defense
 
Whats crazy is this might be the least hyped Bellator ever, there is 0 anticipation for this event. They moved to monthly shows and had two months to promote this card and yet cards during weekly shows have more hype behind it.

Guess it just seems like they did a big Tito show, blew it away with stage and Tito got a big number and then they just went away and were forgotten. They didnt capitalize on that momentum.

Seen 1 commercial spot for this card. They are being overshadowed by Jones stuff and McGregor and probably since UFC has put more promo into the McGregor fight than most PPV it makes the promo for Bellator card look even worse.

But no countdown, no specials, nothing on Pitbull, even a 30 min look back show on main event? Nothing?

They will have like 6 weeks till UK card, they really need to start pushing that, countdowns, promos/commercials for the next month since its a big quarterly event.

Hopefully Zaromskis goes back to being the beheader.

Pitbull v Straus has ore 145 talent in it than Conor Mchyper v Siver.. SO I'm pretty sure it's worth watching if you have any clue about the sport.

I'll always watch Zaromskis. Wish he would get a shot in the UFC.. I think he would transition well to the bigger show.
 
Solid card except for Swicker/Alexander. That might be the most embarrassing main card fight in the Spike era. (Aside from Paul Bradley-Josh Neer)
 
Damn, Straus came in light. Dude must've been shook when he had to lop off the dreads.
