Im not a big Belfort fan but yesterdays loss i felt bad for the guy... he was really timid against Jacare, looked really intmidated by the Aligators output... Hope we can see Anderson vs Belfort 2 here in Brazil somewhere near the future.

Meh. Pulling guard against one of the best grapplers in MMA history is mind boggling. But he does that all the time like against Jones and Sakuraba. If Conor did that he'd be called a quitter. I think Vitor looked for the exit when he pulled guard.

Vitor is a live by the sword, die by the sword type of warrior.

He either smashes your brains clean out of your head in an early burst of extreme violence & fury, or gets beaten to bolivian himself.

Rarely a grey area with this dude. lol

The way he gasped at the end, which made the ref stop the fight, was so sad...

Seems like he folded after the first exchange on the mat. Belfort is amazing fighter when he's smashing but if you can pressure and drag him into deep waters he seems to mentally fold, Couture showed it years ago.

Vitor is done. He's been done. Last nights performance was embarrassing.

He definitely quit, I agree.

Exactly. Last night he looked so weary of Jacare's takedowns that he clammed up his own offense. I don't even remember him throwing any strike of consequence while the fight was on the feet.

Awesome post. This should be at Vitor's Wikipedia page, that's a perfect overview of him as a fighter.

It's over for old young lion dinosaur.

Time to make more comment about Reebok = slavery and get into a legal battle with the UFC.

I don't know why people thought he would beat one of the elite grapplers in MMA, he has struggled with them his entire career, Weidman, Jacare, Jones, Hendo, Liddell, Couture, and Ortiz have all beat him and Overeem who has a good ground game but is primarily a striker also tapped him.

Can't stand the "looked for an exit" bs.

Guy has been around for twenty years and is supposed to pull guard just to quit?
It was a bad decision, adjudicated while being punched in the face. Vitor cannot meet the expectations from a black belt..wasn't the first time he acted questionable on the ground.

His wins were pretty disheartening for the fighters who lost to him.

I didn't see the fight but how did he let Jacare take him down so easily?? fuckkkk he's been training take down defense for 20 damn years how can't he stop it? Jacare is a beast I know, but I am very saddened by this loss.

I love how beaten into Bolivian is just the accepted term now. Thank you Mr. Tyson.

Conor is a quitter, never seen someone so elite tap so fast to submissions. And please, don't read this as a Conor hate message. Conor is very much Elite and a wonderful fighter, it's just that he taps really quick to submissions.

And I agree with Vitor looking for a way out. I don't think he did on purpose though, it must have been all a haze to him due to the pressure Jacare was putting on him
