being hit in the face

^Yeah I didn't plan to. Some idiot's idea of breaking up the fight was pulling me off the guy (who started the fight) from behind, so the guy got the chance to take a few cheap shots.

1 month and a half into training I was sparring and getting hit in the face....
U get used to it

Dude quit worrying and go out and spar at a gym. It hurts but its nothing you cant take. Its almost lik ebeing hit with a pillow but really fucking hard. The only one that hurts as it happens is suqare in the nose. Once my mouth was open to and i got hit in the jaw, and it felt like my jaw shattered, kinda surreal pain but you handle it ya know? nothing a man cant take. just cover and hit back

It's just a matter of getting used to it. Yes, it only hurts afterwards. In college I used to box about 3 rounds, afterwards my head would feel stuffed with cotton. Sometimes it would be hard to eat if someone got a couple of good shots to my jaw.

Dosn't really hurt, unless you take one to the nose, but your whole head JARS and feels like you hit a wall of somthing. Not the best feeling inthe world.

yeah, but everyone is just talking like, getting hit by some jackass in the street, or their buddy while training. you got hit in the head by Enson Inoue, that shit's for real.

Remember when CroCop punched Sapp just below his eye. You could hear Sapp SCREAMING in pain as he dropped, he wouldnt stop screaming even laying on the ground.

Practice desensitizing your skull to punishment by lightly tapping your forehead 47 times with a ball peen hammer before sleep. Gradually increase the force with which you strike yourself. After a few weeks, you should be able to strike with full force. Your forehead is like your shins, it must be conditioned to cope with punishment. Once your forehead begins to calcify, move on to other points on the skull. Try it tonight.
after this is mastered it is good to switch to a sledge.

I htink there's a difference between getting hit in the face and getting hit in the face and breaking your orbital bone and seeing double.

About the third time I sparred (TKD) I got a spinkick to the head. Went home with a black eye that day. I learned to block high.

I got a back kick to the cup that hurt much, much more.

Me too...

Ouch, did Cro really break Sapp's orbital bone in that fight?

it's not that big a deal. you feel jarred for an instant and then it's gone just as fast as it came, unless it's a knockout punch of course :)

first shot in the face i took while sparring, first backyard boxing match i ever had, there were like 10 of us there but only 5 of us fighting, i ate the biggest haymaking/overhand right in the face, fell backwards and caught myself on a fence, both had on 14oz boxing gloves on.

Someone wrote in this thread wrote which is worse getting hit in the face or solar plexis?

I'll take a shot to the face over a hard connecting bodyshot anyday of the week.

Amen to that. Body shots really really suck.

There's no feeling on earth quite like getting hit in the liver so hard you fall to your knees even though your doing everything you can just to try and standup.
