Dan Henderson is over 40 years old and gasses out in grueling 5 round wars.

In a Five Round Fight he gets beaten by Machida i'd say 60-70 percent of the time.

    In a 3 Round Fight I say its 50/50.

He should be laughing right now.

Probably still not worth it if he's losing a PPV cut.

Exactly. This is why he ain't complaining, Hendo gasses in a 5 round badly.

I thought only certain fighters had that built into their contact. Are you sure Dan does?

I think Lorenzo or Dana has said like 30 or so fighters have PPV potential in their contracts. And I can't imagine either of those guys being dishonest.

Dan has a ppv cut built into his contract but it does not matter if he is co main or main event.

A ppv cut can only be dropped if someone loses and Hendo hasn't lost since returning to the Ufc(obviously only had one fight).

Not so sure. To be honest, I think his best chance is to KO Machida. 5 rounds gives him a better shot to do that.

    So F**Kin what!!!

    1. Fights aren't/shouldn't set-up to favor certain fighters

    2. Ronda/Liz don't deserve to headline a ppv.

  9. well if Hendo has a contract w/ a PPV cut stipulation hes likely getting it whether or not hes main event or co main event...thats if he even gets a cut...hendo isnt a huge draw....his legendary status among MMA fans far outweighs his drawing ability...hell, ronda was drawing more then him in Strikeforce...its not like Hendo holds a title so how often would he expect to headline an event if hes not a champion? hardly ever? so i would think he would likely take that into account when he originally signed his contract...i highly doubt him being in the co main slot affects his $$$ at all...when its all said and done and the numbers come out hell certainly be the highest paid fighter on the pay roll for this event next to machida...this isnt about hendos $ or his spot on the card, this is about guys that cant handle the fact females are fighting in the UFC...all i can say to that is tough shit...

Hendos gunna land a HBomb and potentially kill machida round 1. It makes no difference.

I get what you're saying but you say it in a way like Henderson was shaking in his pants about it being 25 minutes. He's gone to war with larger opponents in Rampage and Shogun in 25 minute fights.

  15. UFC championship fights should always be a headlining fight regardless of who the champion is...bottom line end of story...i mean, its pretty obvious from your statement that youre just mad its 2 females headlining...nobody disputes hendos legendary status...but that doesnt determine who headlines a card...its never been that way so why is it an issue now? its only because you cant stand women fighting in the UFC...too fucking bad

whether or not he gets a PPV cut would be in his contract and I highly doubt being the headliner or not changes that whatsoever.

While everybody was complaining about Hendo/Machida not being a headliner and not being a 5 round fight, I kept trying to point out to them that:
maybe Hendo and/or Machida only wanted it to be a 3 round fight. Or maybe the UFC was worried that Hendo couldn't get ready for a 5 rounder, or that maybe Hendo isn't going to be ready in time at all. Maybe they went with the Ronda fight to have a fight to headline above this fight for a specific purpose.

The only 5 round fight Dan ever won was against Shogun, with losses to Rampage and Shields.

Machida is far more technical than either of those guys though. Getting picked apart for 5 rounds is worse than getting picked apart for 3 rounds.

But hey, maybe Hendo lands that bomb on Machida. Most likely Machida wins this fight easily though

I agree that Hendo's cardio looks less than legendary once the fight goes past the 3rd round.
