I've been out of practice and out of shape for a few years. Lately I've been working out with a punching bag (heavy, suspended), but I've noticed that my arms make a snapping/cracking noise when I throw straight punches. I'm fairly certain it's coming from my shoulder area. There is no pain, but it worries me a little. Is this normal? Is it a symptom of not warming up enough? having bad form? I'd appreciate any advice.

I would say you need to warm up and stretch more before hitting the bag. But that being said, I'm not a doctor and I don't know what your form looks like, how old you are, if you have any pre-existing injuries, etc.

It definitely doesn't sound like a good/normal thing.

In my right shoulder, my rotator-cuff is deteriorated, or thats what the doctor told me. Anyway, every so often my shoulder does click and pop. First thing I would do is go to the doctor, that way you'll know if it's an injury. If it's not then you can go from there but I wouldn't push it until you see a doctor.

My foot constantly cracks if I twist it certain ways, and it's nothing to worry about.... but get it checked out to be sure.

i get the same thing, but only in my right. my left doesnt do it. just a real subtle little pop. no pain, just a weird lil click

Hmm... I thought I was the only one who has this. Only on my right arm also & it doesnt hurt me either.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll get it checked out.
