I always have a meal before I goto bed normally a hour to hour and a half before I goto bed, I normally have some cottage cheese or scoop of casesin protein w/ a glass of skim milk, I was wondering if eggs would be a good option here?? I was thinking like a 4-5egg whites scrambled w/ fat free cheese or just hard boiled eggs. is this a good meal before bed or should I stick with what I already eating

i would imagien the same thing would get a bit boring after a while. mix it up. why not?

What are you overall goals? Some have said if you're cutting to avoid it (eggs/cheese etc). I will eat a serving of fat free cottage cheese, a scoop of Met-Rx Protein Plus and a spoonful of sugar free jelly before bed and I haven't gained anything from it. But, I also monitor my calories throughout the day and never go over my requirements.

my goals are really just to maintain, Im already in good shape but I could lose 2-3 more lbs in fat, but I dont want to lose any muscle mass, Id like to gain a couple lbs in muscle but like I said I fairly happy w/ myself, I was just wondering if eggs would put on the fat weight or help w/ gaining a little more mass

i have some rolled oats, milk and honey, the carbs help me sleep better. and I don't get my mlk any other time of the day so it works fo rme.

Carbs before bed inhibit HGH. But, that's if you're completely maximizing.

Eggs should be fine, egg albumen is relatively slow digesting, not casein slow, but slower than straight up meat.

HGH = human growth hormone. the stuff that makes you grow during recovery.

and i didnt know carbs before bed inhibits its release, guess i got some work to do

I have heard that about carbs and HGH... never actually looked up the research though.

personally, I just eat like a cup of cottage cheese as fast as I can. Sometimes I just have a scoop of protein and some water...

I am not trying to gain, so I'm not too worried about protein overnight.

So for before bed, what is the absolute best meal you could eat?

What about cottage cheese and nuts or natural PB?
