In general what do you prefer when it comes to drinking beer vs cocktails

When I first started drinking I hated beer and alchohol in general so I always masked it with the sweetest juice I could find

Then in my mid late 20's I got more into drinking beers and ipa's and such

And now I'm find myself coming back to cocktails. Why? Because the taste. I'd much rather have a whiskey lemonade than a beer these days.

Beers. I can keep drinking longer and I don't get a godawful hangover like with cocktails.

It changes depending on your age. I’m 35 and beers make me full as hell now. When I was younger I’d pound Long Islands and Bud heavies like an asshole, now I need decent cocktails to not feel like crap the next day.

Love a good sour beer or gose though.

Either beer or straight liquor. I don't mix often.

This. Straight clear liquor gives the least amount of hangovers.

    Why not both.
Serious it depends on whose making the cocktails and what kind of beer is available.
Also why not beertails? I am always down for a beermosa if it’s a good Hefeweizen or wheat.

It's all an own preference, I like IPA's and straight room temp whiskey in a glass with smokes. Just enjoy anyway you can is what I believe. Cheers!

Once in awhile I'll make a tequila sunrise or cognac and cranberry, but rarely. Usually just tequila straight with a beer chaser.

It depends on who’s mixing the drink. Th beets cocktail I’ve ever had was a fine tequila reposado mixed agave néctar sliced cucumbers and ginger. I could throw that back for the rest of my days if I had the opportunity

I still enjoy beer but it gives me much worse hangovers than liquor

Cocktails are fun to make and drink, but really overpriced at most places. Usually if I’m “going out” to dinner I will get a cocktail. If I’m just going to a bar or whatever I will drink beer.

As someone who used to work in the alcohol beverage industry, I am fairly familiar with the cost of goods in bars/restaurant. And it just annoys me on principles having to pay 200% to 300% markup for something readily available in liquor stores without those markups.

Beer. Preferably something hoppy but I'll drink most styles of beer.

Whiskey neat. Scotch neat. Bourbon neat. Take small sips and savor each one. Should take you like 30 min to finish a glass.

You really start to appreciate the taste and the added bonus is that you don't have to hassle with mixing a drink. Just pour.
