Did you know excessive beards are forbidden in most boxing associations? They absorb punches like uppercuts and punches to the chin.

I'm not talking about Jones beard. I am talking about Roy Nelson and Johny Hendricks...

I wonder if its something the UFC should do something about..

Well, until someone does research (a la in Sport Science), we'll never know for sure.

They dont "absorb punches like uppercuts and punches to the chin." Jesus.

They make it harder to connect cleanly because the gloves slide off the chin.
Kind of like getting elbowed with hair on your head and without.

    Breaking news, hair is slippery

    Wow this thread again.

Ask yourself this, a la Roy Nelson chin scraggles, do you really think when a trained fighter is throwing bombs at you a tuft of protein, french fry bits and dirt is gonna save you from a KO?

What if someone actually makes his hair slippery by putting hair spray on it, assuming it's a nest a la Koscheck or Askren?

With a bearded opponent, you never know where his chin is hiding, so you keep guessing the right spot and miss the KO opportunities.
