    Round up via Phantom Knee.

That’s not to say they’ve moved away from supporting those newbies; there’s no less than three athletes making their amateur debut’s tonight at BCMMA 14. Although a big chunk of amateur fights can seem a little impenetrable – what sets one unknown apart from the others? – we’re confident that there’ll be a few gems in there. Team Titan’s Raymond Asare kicked off his amateur career in confident style at Rise of Champions last year with a triangle choke submission win. Plus, IMMAF European Opens bronze medallist, Connor Hitchens will be battling Christoffer Darre in the BCMMA amateur bantamweight title contest at the top of the undercard.

But this time around, BCMMA are bringing out some big guns for the main card. Former TUF competitor, Luke Barnatt will be kicking off the professional portion of the card – taking on Charles Andrade, who has a record of 29-26-1. Originally expected to face Rafael Silva, Barnatt now finds himself in something of a lose-lose situation against an opponent with over four times as many fights as him. The path that an ex-UFC fighter takes is often an interesting one to follow. Barnatt’s next match up has been hitting the headlines this past week for slightly dubious reasons. However, back to tonight – Barnatt is going to need to impress upon his return to the UK if he hopes to build momentum on his route back to the big show. Having never lost a professional fight on British soil before, this is an important homecoming for ‘Bigslow’.

The remainder of the professional card also has plenty to offer with two titles (one interim) to fight for, another ex-UFC star in the shape of John Maguire, and Cage Warriors standout, Sean ‘Sexy Curls’ Carter, who faces very late replacement Mr ‘any place, any time’, David Round.

Our pick to watch though is Luis Gonzalez – fresh from a fight camp in Florida where he caught the eye of MMA legend, Mike Brown, who has tipped him for the big leagues. Could this be your last chance to catch Gonzalez in Charter Hall? That remains to be seen, but he’s sure to put on an explosive display tonight.
