In this Sherdog interview from several years back, Ricco said that he is actually the owner of the remaining Smashing Machine tapes. Outtakes and whatever else -- supposedly footage intended for a Renzo documentary. We'll probably never know.

Ricco is surprisingly absent from social media. Does anyone know what he is doing now? Just no gi grappling one off matches?

Probably a lot of cocaine and Taco Bell

Old School Classic. Crazy how Mark Kerr life turned out. Dude had skills. And Ricco, the guy was out there for a while. #BAS BLESSED !!!

Anybody remember when he was in shape, I'm sure Kerr set that up because Ricco was fucking off too much.

Ricco is a sociopath piece of sheet

Dude openly admits to crashing his car with his gf at the time, thought she was dead, so he moved her into the driver seat so he wouldn't be in trouble for being under the influence

Mark Kerr: I want you to beat the shit out of my friend
Bas Rutten: Okay

:D

I remember seeing some variation of that footage in The Smashing Machine. One of the GOAT documentaries. Hopefully one day we get a MMA movie that can compete with that...

Have you seen fight valley?

Pathetic glass mandible.
That's what happens when you do a an absolute fuckload of coke. Wrecks chins... Although Bas hit him with his patented left-straight on the jaw, which is basically like having a meteor crash into you face.

Easily the GOAT MMA documentary.

I wanted him to smash his bitch girlfriend... But he just let her undermine his confidence, ruined his relationship with Bas Rutten and constantly complained, and big Mark Kerr just let her wreck him like a cuck...

She was just as much to blame for his downfall as the drugs... And where the fuck is that bitch now that he's broke?

I remember getting the dual dvd with Smashing Machine/Fight Day or whatever it was called from Netflix maybe in 2006 or so. I distinctly remember Bas koing Ricco. My mind distorted it though, as I remember him slumping against the wall and doing the ko moan. Weird how your mind can change things.

Both addicts who wasted their potential. Ricco was definitely the better fighter. As much as I liked Kerr and rooted for him, he was mentally weak and a quitter. I'm just glad he's found sobriety and peace in his life today.

This was back in 1999 ish at Beverly Hill Jiu Jitsu Club. I was blessed enough to train there at this time. Think about this for a moment:

Marco Ruas
Bas Rutten
Mark Kerr
Ricco Rodriguez

All of those guys taught classes and trained there. You could literally go from one class to the next. You would be training with world class guys like Genki Sudo, Amir, etc. Hell one day I was taking a kickboxing class from Rob Kaman. A few months later I was helping Fabiano Iha get ready for a fight.

Jesus - this video brings back memories.

Last I saw, they were co-parenting and maybe cohabitating. It didn't make sense to me that Kerr didn't get into coaching or training. Some people used to suggest that he had something ugly on his record. But I don't know of any evidence of that.

When I first got into BJJ I had no idea that active professional fighters actually taught classes or that just hobbyists would train with professional fighters. I show up for BJJ and they ask me if I want to train muay thai after class, I say sure and who turns out to be the instructor, Duane Ludwig. I was in heaven.

Mark Kerr might be one of the scariest looking dudes to ever fight, but he has a chicken heart, and it's hard to imagine him being taken seriously by top level fighters... Dude was a functioning addict, a cuck, a quitter, and a crybaby - and that' just what we saw on the documentary.

You can't have a guy that ran around backstage at Pride events asking organisers for opiates telling the kids how it's done... Basically was more ashamed of him than he was of himself because he's too far up his own ass to see anything apart from himself.

I have a very dim view of Mark Kerr.
