Barrera: Manny Pacquiao is The Best Fighter in The World - Boxing News

Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera worked as a color commentator for TV Azteca during the Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito pay-per-view clash which took place this past Saturday night in Arlington, Texas.

During the fight Marco gave his props to Pacquiao and made some good comments about the man he regards as the pound-for-pound king. Pacquiao exploded on the scene when scored an upset knockout of Barrera in November of 2003. They had a rematch in October of 2007, which Barrera lost by decision.

"Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world. Usually a good big man will always beat a good little man, but Pacquiao is a great little man. It is amazing how he can go up in weight and beat all of these huge guys," said the former three time world champion Barrera.

''I wanted Margarito to win. I mean my heart was with him and I thought he had a pretty good chance, but after Pacquiao cut him - I knew it was over. Manny is a gentleman, because he had Tony hurt in the 10th round and he could have finish him, but he let Tony survive. He showed his class and that is why he is the best. I am not ashamed to be on his list of victims because he is great,'' Barrera concluded.

One Legend giving props to another Legend. Barrera's a class act.

These were the days.

I wonder what Barrera would have said if Barrera were a black American.

I'll never forget the epic schooling Barrera put a cocky Hamed through. Legendary.

nice takedown @ 0:52, you can tell he wanted to gnp the prince.

except that one time when he socked Erik Morales at the press conference.

And Kennedy McKinney.

Also when he hit Marquez on the canvas, and Pacquiao on the break (second fight). Oh yeah, he also slammed Hamed in the ring pole...

Surprising. Considering how their matches ended up and that they haven't patched things up unlike Morales.

For a guy like Barrera to give Manny props like this...

This is not true...

Yes there is the notion that a good big man will always beat a good little man but Oscar was a GREAT big man.

And after he beat Oscar it was really the only time this had ever happened. I think at that point Pac was solidified as the greatest
