I knew and predicted him to beat Pettis but I honesty expected him to destroy him.

Barboza has so much potential but he somehow seems eager to pull the trigger. He has the tools to go through everybody standing up and I knew Pettis won't go to wrestle with him. I really hope that Barboza shows us more from what we know he can do.

Not sure what you were expecting. Barboza looked great last night, and won decisively. He out struck Pettis ~2:1 and turned his thigh into hamburger.

A lot of people are bagging on Pettis now but I think that is unfair to Barboza. He did an excellent job and really shined last night.

i expected him to destroy Pettis and finish him.

Anthony has a great chin and has never been finished. Pettis is a great striker as well. Of course he was going to survive the barrage...Johnson and some others have so theres that.

What? He outclassed Pettis on the feet. Short of a KO I don't know what you're expecting.

Probably not a fair criticism since he schooled Pettis, but Barboza doesn't seem to be a great finisher outside of the Etim kick.

i'm pretty sure Pettis shoot for a couple of TD but couldn't get it

Barboza did what he needed to do, protect his chin and keep Pettis on the end of his jab. He fought conservative and technical, last thing he should be doing is opening up and letting his chin get tested again.

That's some lofty expectations. Pettis has never been finished, seldom rocked and I can only remember him being dropped once.

Even recently he took a 5 round beating from RDA, the same RDA that ran through Bendo and Cerrone.

So because in your opinion he should have WRECKED pettis, he put on poor performance last night?
Most people, myself included, where extremely impressed with Barboza last night. Especially considering that he was the damn underdog, most people were not expecting him to smoke Pettis the way he did.
I'm really not sure why you think your opinion of a fighter is the standard at which they should perform.

When people get predictions wrong, they don't want to admit the other guy was simply better, so they'll just dog their boy to save face.

Barboza looked excellent, and I'm really happy that he beat Pettis.

Against other dangerous strikers,
Barboza tends to get lulled into
a sparring match. It happened
with njokouani, king Bobby green,
Pearson & once he saw Felder
wasn't going away, he stopped
throwing with such murderous
intent, with him too.

Surprisingly, it seems like his
most exciting fights are the ones
where a grappler is pushing the
pace. Cucuy, castillo, dunham...

Exciting fighter. Real humble

I think you expected too much, Barbosa had a great fight, but he can't underestimate Pettis, because Pettis has his tricks as well.

He has a glass chin and i was expecting Pettis to beat him.

Barboza was the underdog.
Seems like you might had a little to high expectation on him.
He did great IMO.

Yeah Pettis is a can. Never won anybody. I would destroy him easily.
Jesus, how people forget, Pettis is a terrific fighter.
