Does anyone else fucking love this? I love to go to the barbershop and get a hot straight razor shave. For real. They tighten up my hair too around the ears and neck, and I know it's the old dudes that do the best but this girl was good.

It's like the warm foam hits your face and it's heaven. Only like $7 too. If you have not done this, do it. I love it. A few friends have done it and a few will not, I have no idea why. It's awesome. I was almost giggling n shit. Go.
 
it seems cool, but i just end up considering the idea an unnecessary extravagance since i'm just gonna have to shave again in a few days, give or take depending on plans.


plus, i'm more than a little uncomfortable with the idea of a person with a sharp object anywhere near my jugular.
 
For special occasions I'll splurge on a shave and cut ($26).

It's cool too because I goto a old fashioned style barber, so everything they do is on point. Pre shave lotion, hot towel, remove towel, warm shaving cream, shave, warm towel again, then they apply after-shave, followed by a cold towel to finish it off. My pores are straight pulsating after. The best shavers though, you could literally not find a spec a stubble after.
 
am I the only one who read the title as "hot slaves"?
 
My barber has used a straight razor on me before but it was only to finish up. Never had a hot save done before

Going to the barber is fucking expensive
 
I like it but the last one was subpar. Dude used one of those "straight razors" that uses half a double edge blade and I didn't care for it. The hot towel stuff and all that was great though. Gonna try a different place next time.

I used to go once a month to this fancy place in Malaysia (Trufit & Hill, I think the name was) for a head shave. Same thing tbt describes, great feeling and you feel excellent afterwards. Only problem was that it was expensive.
 
I've seen too many movies to let some dude use a cut-throat razor on me.

That scene from Drive makes my toes curl.
 
My grandfather took me for my first hot shave when I was a kid, was awesome.

Every major states has them, but every one I've been in has been staffed with young, good looking women and they do the who hand and scalp massage bit, too.

Not that I'm complaining, but it's not the same as an old Asian or Italian man doing.
 
I usually will get a hot shave a couple times a year.

Yeah it's pretty awesome.

But yeah I do this a few times a year too. Lately I've just been having them trim me up instead of shave me. My beard is to infantile to groom on my own.
 
The time & money expended to do this has just never plused out for me. I can't justify spending 19 minutes and $14 to get a f'n shave. I don't care how hot your damn towel is.
