He was thrown to the wolves in his first fight at FW and did surprisingly good against a bad matchup in Jeremy Stephens.

Both are, both are former champs going to the middle division. Barao had weight cut problems at BW and Pettis had power problems at LW. The match-up writes itself

 

I dunno. I'm still kinda shocked by the way he lost to Dillashaw and how he's looked since. I know his cut to BW was part of it, but...goddamn. Henan was a killer not so long ago.

he's still a killer... He went up to fight the hardest hitting featherweight in the UFC who is a former LW and has a KO over the previous LW champion. He outlanded Stephens and took him down. Baraos only problem was that Stephens just hit too damn hard for him.

 

I think he literally wore out his body at 135, it was a hero cut and as he aged, it just took more and more of a toll.

For his first fight at featherweight they gave him a very tough, very big veteran - Stephens is a huge featherweight who's knocked out plenty of guys at lightweight. Judging from Barao in his debut, I think he's going to settle in and be just fine.

Nover isn't really a UFC caliber fighter - nice guy, certainly has some talents, but he honestly belongs in a smaller org.

Barao is most likely going to stop him in devastating fashion I think ...
