Barao: Biggest win-streak, smallest salary

Once again the epic stupidity of sherdog posters has been proven again. Barao does not make 11k per fight. Its hilarious to hear people constantly quote his last public payout which was like 5 years ago as his actual pay.

How many times are we gonna make this thread? Again Barao's last reported pay was years ago and dumb ass ppl and now i guess websites are running with it.

Get it together

It's business. Ugly people generally don't sell. Should and should not don't come into play. It is what it is. And, yeah, it's called discrimination. Welcome to planet Earth. Deal with it.
He's not a model, but he's also not the hideous monster Sherdog makes him out to be.

You really think he only makes 22k? Those numbers are from a reported pay-out when he was still on his WEC contract. Even though he is probably pretty underpaid(he is having contract renegotiations after his fight with Dillashaw) he is definitely making waaaaayy more than 22k.

This.

Everyone seems so sure that he doesn't make 22k, but does anyone have any proof?

Unless you know the details of his contract, he could very well be getting the same show money he was a year ago. If you think it's ridiculous to think a UFC fighter could be paid such a low wage, you haven't been paying attention to the sport.

The fact that he can easily afford a washing machine yet still does it by hand suggests that you're wrong

He does it by hand because he doesn't want to forget what it's like to be poor, because soon after retiring from fighting he could easily be back in that situation. These guys get paid enough to get by while their fighting while other athletes get enough to live the rest of their lives and provide for their families. These fighters earn nothing compared to what they sacrifice.

Yes, it is ridiculous to think he is making the same purse as champion that he was when he fought Scott Jorgensen, especially when you consider that UFC contracts increase with every win.

He's headlining PPVs, isn't it likely he's getting a cut of that?

Don't say something this stupid without providing any evidence.

He got 22k to fight Jorgensen, and he also got 22k to fight McDonald, so he obviously has not been getting a pay increase.

Lots of people sacrifice for their jobs.
Everyone wants to get paid more money, but nobody is forced to sign a contract.
If the money's so bad, they shouldn't agree and go find another job.

dude was washing his training clothes in his fucking bathtub in a favela on the last ufc insider thing and hes the champ of the biggest org in the world. Its criminal what they are paying him.

15kg = 33lbs = 20% body weight

wut

it's true though.

this photo was posted yesterday by his team, too, 2 days before weigh in.

Anyone know if he's signed a new contract since his fight 2 years ago? If not his pay is still the same. And dana has the convenient happenstance of the OTN bonuses to justify not raising his pay

Edit**Happenstance; es normal

Don't say something this stupid without providing any evidence.
Eddie Wineland: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)
defeated Scott Jorgensen: $20,500

Eddie Wineland: $30,000 ($15,000 to show, $15,000 to win)
Brad Pickett: $17,000

___________________________

Frankie Edgar - $13,000 + $13,000 = $26,000
Hermes Franca - $17,000

Frankie Edgar: $40,000 ($20,000 win bonus)
def. Sean Sherk: $40,000

That is how a typical UFC contract works. Your pay increases with every win. Learn your shit before calling others stupid.
