You really think he only makes 22k? Those numbers are from a reported pay-out when he was still on his WEC contract. Even though he is probably pretty underpaid(he is having contract renegotiations after his fight with Dillashaw) he is definitely making waaaaayy more than 22k.
 
He's absolutely hideous and he speaks no English. No surprise.
 
Not owning a washing machine makes a little more sense now, that is truly shyt money.

People are going to use this as an avenue to trash Zuffa but honestly this is a result of very poor management. Your agent's job is to make sure you aren't making chump change after a 30 something fight win streak.

When you are dealing with a monopoly what negotiating power do you have?
Rich Franklin made absolute shit money as champion because the UFC blackballed him after competing in Japan and losing. He sat out for a long time and finally when the UFC decided to play ball they stuck him with a long term low pay contract. The UFC pretty much has a monopoly and they know it and fighters pay the price.

Partially this is because of draw power in this case. A promoter isn't going to pay big dollars to someone that doesn't fill seats no matter if they have a belt or a long win streak. But no one headling a PPV should be making that kind of shit money.

He's not making $22k. It's been disproven time and time again.
It's completely stupid for anyone to think that he's still on that amount, whether he's the champion or not.
A UFC champ will never get paid $22k. As much as some of you hate the UFC, it's no suprise some of you are blind to facts.

Secondly, he doesn't have a washing machine in that apartment because he doesn't want one.
He's fine washing his clothes by hand. Don't apply your American way of life to the whole world.

I disagree that Renan's pulchritude (or lack thereof) is the cause of his low salary. More likely, it's his absolute lack of charisma that has kept him low man on the UFC pay totem.
 
you better believe he would be making more money if he was tall and good looking, if gsp was 5'5 he would not have gotten nearly as many sponsors, this is backed by tons of statistics on shorter men getting the shaft when it come to equality, look it up before you call me a troll. heightism, plus he speaks no english and is not really a ladies man. If gsp was not average height and good looking he would not have made as much as he did
 
Renan could easily move out of the house he's currently living in, but it appears that he likes too much the company of his bros.
 
If you think Barao makes less than TJ, please do the world a favor and kill yourself.
