Banned in BJJ Fanzine Issue One DONE! ADD US UP!!!

While injured I started putting together a zine, and I am just putting the finishing touches on the first issue. Im printing it tonight after dinner. Do me a favor and add us on myspace and start checking the blog, because things are going to be rolling soon. Im stoked, hopefully people will be into it. Interviews, articles, etc etc. These will be circulating at the Us Grappling Diamond State Games for sure. For more info check out the blog. For now just start adding and spreading the word!

Yup this was my first week back. It feels great. Ill start competing again in july once my weight goes back to normal.

The name is a nod to bad brains, the greatest band of all time. And I felt it fits since a lot of the articles are sarcastically written

 

Bad Brains rule. My license plate used to be IagnstI.

 

Which competition are you planning on doing? I dont know any in July so if you do, let me know! And its good to hear you're training again. I didnt get any cookies from you last time so you owe me.

Which still doesn't make sense in the BJJ context.

Don't get me wrong - Bad Brains were one of the greatest groups of all time. Not downing them, just saying...

 

I agree, it makes no sense at all. This kid is like a 16 year old punk rocker, I didn't make much sense as a 16 year old punk rocker, either. He also mentions to listen to Black Flag and to F your parents...which is kind of weird.

I put out plenty of zines that said lame 16 year old stuff in them when I was his age, so I definitely get it. I commend him for doing it, zines have always been a throwback to the DIY culture in the punk rock scene.

Im all for doing somethign new - and it if works congrats.. but it just seems like bad idea. Kind of like the No-Gi gi

Yeah I'm just gonna start competing again in july. Might have to travel a bit to find some tournaments. And morrissey transcends age.

 

NO, this is serious. I think with this name, Kenny is implying that Catch >>> BJJ, because they bann all the godd stuff in BJJ, like face cranks.

I vote for Kenny getting demoted to Sherdog white belt. Tat is where it hurts the most...
