A pro-big bank bail-outer who gave the banks billions while allowing them to evict millions of people is going to be president. The banks must be creaming their Brooks Brothers thinking of new ways to screw over working people.

What's next? Taxing water? Oh wait.

    Work from home tax lol.

Your less need to use government infrastructure like roads, etc should actually warrant a tax cut!

    Save money on lunch?

What work from home workers don't eat?

    Putang ina nya!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if this passed in some European or Scandinavian countries, but fuck this shit.

Don't even attempt to bring this shit to the USA.

    I was thinking the opposite.

Businesses and workers who encourage and participate in remote work should get some sort of carbon tax credit.

    Its so bulshit.

They say you need to pay more tax because you save up because you dont drive to work and dont eat lunch at some shit office cafeteria!

So if some office workers decide to pack their lunch and walk to work should they be taxed too?

If I stop wearing bra and panties and skip dinner should I be charged more tax?

When we are working from home we dont get allowonces from our company to pay for additional internet service as back up

And electricity bills is on us and last summer the AC is running all day because I am at home well all day working.

Who ever supports this bill putang ina nya.

Completely dumb. There are some new issues though with the rise in remote work however. Take Pittsburgh for example. We have a employer payroll tax related to employees working in the city. If we mainly move to remote, the city loses out on that revenue now if the person lives outside of the city lines. Local and state governments are going to have to access different challenges like this and rethink where they tax to make up the shortfalls if necessary. I don’t think you do that with a work from home tax though. There isn’t a reason to penalize that compared to working in an office.

It’s really backwards thinking. I get there is concerns about city revenue and how commercial real estate might tank soon but I don’t really see this as a solution.

Anything to crush people's will, which is what working in an office is for many people. A soul crusher.

Working from home should be encouraged not taxed.

Unfortunately, the problem with this kind of thinking is that it is a job killer. Many of these businesses/buildings/etc. need staff to keep it maintained/clean/running. Working at home eliminates the need for those kinds of jobs. Custodians/secretaries/assistants/etc. are out of luck.

Online secretaries is the new shit!

Sucks for men who loves fondling the sexy secretary!

But yeah that is a legitimate concern but I guess things can adopt and office space rates should go down anyway.

Kinda hearth breaking though the last month I went to our office for the last time to get my shit and end our lease contract.

During that time the place is deserted all the other tenants have left.

My boss has decided we work from home indefinitely!
