So I'm listening to one of my old time fav bands Type O Negative. This band got me through so many tough times & I still turn to them now. Although now I constantly remind myself how Peter turned to Catholicism in his later years pretty much skewing most of his lyrics. You guys fan of any bands whose beliefs drastically changed during their active years? Does this affect your listening years later?

im not talking about growing out an emo phase. im talking about bands that were aligned to a faith or not faith or a view point you no longer view..

I really enjoyed Woody Allen's film this year, Café Society, even though he is a total dirtbag.

Personally, I try to separate art from the artist.

I kind of liken it to walking over a well-constructed bridge. You don't think to yourself, 'I wonder if the architect beat his wife. If so, maybe I should walk a different way.'

thats a good way to think about it. on the other hand, i dont *know* if the architect beat his wife, however we have several stories about how woody allen is a piece of shit. i cant avoid one, maybe i cant avoid the other knowingly. get what i mean?

If it makes you feel any better, I did buy the ticket to a different movie, and then walk into that one, because fuck giving that guy money. I feel I got the best of both worlds.

    Perfect example.

Roman Polanski's Pianist is a masterpiece.

    Roman Polanski's Penis... different story.

ha, was kind of going to say the same thing. Henry rollins seems like an sjw idiot now.

But what really pisses me off is Jello Biafra from dead kennedys. Dude is a fucking leftist now. DK sung about people persecuting others and how it was bullshit and fuck the government. Now he is rooting for the side actively persecuting people and says socialism is good---that is government all up on your shit.
I think he was so bent on being anti conservative/republican that he just shuts his mind off and sucks the left's dick

DK and BF were my favorite bands in the mid 80s (well and metallica and misfits too)

    <{Heymansnicker}>

Everyone knows right wing dictatorships are known for championing the liberties of their citizens.
