That being said what are his options from his point of view? Will his pride allow him to look like he gave in to the UFC? I mean the guy still hasn't said a word to the world since, "No, I'm retired. Fuck interviews." So if he backs off his position and tries to save UFC 200 and do the press tour without the Vegas part on Friday, will he feel like a sell out to himself? It will be really interesting to see what is announced Friday and if that is the deadline the UFC has set for McGregor through his representation. I don't see the UFC letting this thing go on too much longer without announcing that the Aldo v Edgar fight is for the vacated FW title.

He could always go back to earning minimum wage as a plumber's apprentice.

As long as you keep talking about him like he was the second coming of Jesus, i think the ball is on him. If he stays retired then fuck me, i didn't see it coming.
But i think this is one of those times when a kid throws himself on the floor of the supermarket crying because he can't get his parents to buy him candy.

Let us hope the man gets what he wants. It is past time a hard working fighter gets a W against the UFC.

He's been pampered, looked after and coddled by Daddy Dana ever since his first fight in the UFC.

Conors balls are on Dana´s forehead.

Yeah, I don't route for the kid at all. I'm a huge Diaz fan, have been a fan of both of Diaz brothers for a long time. Nick since his first since the Robbie fight and his subsequent robbery against Karo. Maybe I wasn't so clear in the OP but I think Conor's ego will keep him out of the game for a year or more. That's what I was saying. It's about time that the UFC held Conor to the standards they hold other guys too and I hope on Friday they announce a title fight for Nate and that the Jose v Frankie fight will be for the FW belt that Conor is vacating. I think Conor is good for the sport because of his visibility but that's about all.

This is the kind of delusional talk that Conor fans tend to say. Conor has got nothing but wins against the UFC, I hope the UFC takes him down a notch and he can come back next year and appreciate the opponents that have made his career and the organization that has put him on a pedestal. He's a like a petulant kid that just takes his ball and goes home when he doesn't get his way.

Calling a hard-working champion a "petulant kid" on an internet forum is just too ironic.

I hear you but... regardless of who I am, it doesn't mean that he isn't and so that's not irony. I guess that's a matter of opinion. I find it amazing how quickly someone can go from that background to being so entitled but you constantly see it in professional sports.

Irony is where something has the opposite from intended outcome. So for that to be ironic it would have to have persuaded people that he's a dignified mature adult.

Well, i wasn't even speaking about the Conor huggers, but everybody that talks about him. I am his fan but i think this stuff he is pulling off is ridiculous and stupid, something a child would do.

But just remember, Jesus had haters too.

Danas balls are in Conors mouth

Okay I'll settle this!! Dana's balls are in your mouth and Conors balls are in Jin's hand, safe secure and snuggly when he goes to sleep, he kisses them good night and Conor bless' him.

This is, man, that the man worked his ass off. Not only trained hard enough to beat some of the best fighters of our time, but he did all that while playing a character and doing crazy media. He captured peoples imaginations by being larger than life, while Aldo, for example, played to that old, lame 'I'm a fighter, I fight, what coach and UFC say, I do'. Instead of crying about pennies like Aldo he went out there and changed salary roofs for a MMA fighter. Worked his ass off, and he wants more, and I am all for him finding out how much he is REALLY worth to the UFC.

Cool, he's losing money and stock. I realize that the Irish market may not be but the US market is fickle. The market will turn if he really stays out for a while. It's not like he's GSP who had defended his belt for years when he started pulling this. Conor hasn't even defended his championship once. Sure he captured everyone's attention but that attention has it's deficits.
