I've read statements that say it buffers lactic acid, but I have yet to find anything that would explain the mechanism; it could possibly be through the enhanced cellular hydration, but I'm just taking a guess.
I cycle creatine, and I always find I seem to have more gas during class and sparring when I'm on it.
As far as bicarb goes: I may try it, just to see for myself. I may also end up on the toilet for an hour versus at class training
It'd be nice to find some hard evidence about these high-alkaline diets.
