Bag work or run?

I'd do both but mix it up every other day or something. Run one day, then do the heavy bag another day.

But if I could only choose one, I'd do the heavy bag. Running is good for your cardio but with the heavy bag you can work your cardio and technique at the same time.

Both, but if you could only do one hit the bag. Not only does it help your technique/cardio, but being able to run for a long time does not equal being able to fight for a long time. Same with hitting a bag, but it's closer.

Bag, no doubt.

You can work bag with intensity to improve your cardio, but there's no running style I'm aware of that improves your punching form or power.

Only hitting the bag does jack shit for Fighting cardio, and hitting the bag with no coaching does jack shit for form.

So I say run. If you can have some coaching during your bag rounds. 15 minutes run, 3 rounds bag work.

I'd run like Kabuki said, It sounds to me like your going 2 be doing this in your spare time so there will be no-one there to correct your mistakes. Everybody knows how to run and you should just get in shape, Leave your technique until you get into the gym!

run 3 days bag work 3.
what kind of roster are you on most people shit more then 30 minutes a day.

id do the bag 5x5 if you have the work ethic to actually give it your all. If not and you just don't quite have that discipline down I would probably run intervals for 30 minutes.

yeah you need to run. I really think there's no other way around it. if pouding pavement or trailing running is not an option, at least do some time on the treadmill.
