Lyoto Machida and Mauricio Rua were both Bad Boy sponsored fighters. However, it seems for whatever reason, they didn't sponsor both fighters going head to head.

Shogun retained Bad Boy as a sponsor and walked out with a clean white shirt with brazilian colors and his signature value tudo shorts.

He was comfortable and ready for war.

Machida, this time was sponsored by Silver Star for his shirt, and Jaco for shorts. Clearly that bright orange Silver Star shirt was ugly as hell.

Therefore Machida became self-conscious about himself, and worried what people thought of him. And the Jaco shorts were just too new for him.

He didn't get a chance to break them in and feel at home with them, like his old Bad Boy boardshorts.

NEVER, EVER, change your rituals and routines for a big fight!! Machida got all voodoo'd out due to these drastic changes. He's clearly not championship material.

Shogun, bad boy for life.

UFC 94 and 98, he was Bad Boy. The 94 shirt was a good looking red shirt. That was when it come into play.

He KO'ed Thiago Silva that night. Contrary to what Machida said, that his new found power came from a new strength and conditioning coach, it was actually that red Bad Boy shirt that gave him new confidence. He walked around feeling like a million bucks.

And as he admired himself some more in the Bad Boy line, came UFC 98. Feeling comfortable, he KO'ed Evans as well.

Clearly Bad Boy increased his game. :icon_lol:

How do the Jaco shorts fit? Is the sizing right on as far as being the same waist size as jeans you wear on the street or are they bigger/smaller?

I don't dare enter the forums discussing fight results. I'll take your word that the Heavies are at each others throats fighting a battle with no end.

I personally thought Machida's UFC 94 and 98 shirts were great. The new Silver Star is ok, a little flashy, but interesting. Jaco Shorts are a nice choice, i've heard nothing but great things about them and Lyoto sporting them in action makes me want to pull the trigger on my credit card.

The only thing I didn't like about Shogun's shorts was the design on the back because this obnoxiously drunk girl at the bar I was in kept screaming "HES GONNA GET PINK EYE ON HIS ASS!!!". Gotta love New York City.

Jaco fit very true to size. However I wear 32" in clinch gear and adx shorts which do not have an adjustment setup ie no draw string. I ordered size 32" in the jaco's but due to the closure system you really have to snake your hips to get in them and its a real pain to do especially when wearing a protective cup. So I exchanged them for a size up (34") and they are so much easier to put on and due to how good the closure system works to lock the shorts in place they still fit perfectly.

A big thanks for Jaco and all their help buy with confidence they are awesome :)

I had the exact same situation with the jaco shorts as I wear a 30 in every short got a 30 in the jacos and I could get them on but it was rough to say the least. I ended up with a 32 and they are much easier to get on and the closure system makes them fit perfect. Look for my full review coming up end of this week.

Maybe people bought bad boy after the decision cause they felt bad for shogun lol

I have these and like them both, i do prefer ther badboy shirt a bit more tho :icon_chee

This in white is pretty cool. I like that its a simpler design then most affliction, silver star, etc garbage.

Same problem for me. IMHO a horrible design and a total pain in the ass for basically no worthwhile reason (the closure doesn't help your shorts stay on any better than a nogi/tapout/clinch gear closure). Also, your logos will start to deteriorate after 2 trips through the wash. Never had that with a pair of shorts before.

Jaco has great people working for it, and great ideas, but very flawed execution. NOT worth the $60 premium.
