This win proves what many, including myself suspected. When I first saw Alvarez vs Chandler, followed by the sequel, it seemed far superior to what we were seeing from Bendo and Pettis as champions. I personally had hoped Michael Chandler would join UFC as he seemed a slight touch better back then.
I see the Cerrone fans also have their jimmies fully rustled. But the reality is. Alvarez has improved and actually peaked. Since that fight we have seen Cerrone underperform against Ben and lose in the first round against the same guy Eddie just beat. This is the new reality and it will be best to accept it for a while.
Also am curious to how well people who are familiar with Will Brooks skillset and have seen him fight think he will do in the UFC. I think he would have to try really hard NOT to make the top ten and can do it in his sleep. Honestly he might be a better but more boring version of Bendo. I like the guy and wish him well but I must admit he isn't that exciting. All the noob's here said the same thing about Eddie and probably never saw any Bellator fights.
