awesome marcelo garcia interview!

loved the interview.

great insight, especially that story of him telling why he doesn't use half guard anymore.

i love how open he is with his ideas and himself in general. from his interviews to his books to his website, he does not hide anything.

from his interview, you can tell that he 100% KNOWS he trains harder than all his opponents. and he enjoys it too.

i also loved what he said about being tired but not showing your opponent you're tired.

and if you're tired, you have to believe that your opponent is more tired than you because you trained harder for this.

i love marcelo!

that part was great! seeing the interview in person was an eye opening experience. I'm the guy Peyton that Matt was talking about lol. most humble man on the planet hands down. hearing him speak about his training regimen and love for the sport is truly inspiring.

what a fantastic interview and great just to see his approach and thinking towards jiu jitsu, i try as much to follow the same way osss

the fucking crazy thing about marcelo is that even though he is the best
in the world

he is always in a good mood like you see in the video. he is extremely humble
and just a nice guy

its an honor to go to his academy

the man is just oozing with humility, humbleness and happiness in the interview. it's pretty funy in the beginning because he really does look like he just woke up. he was struggling to keep his eyes open it seemed.

like, you know what i mean?

marcelo is awesome.

Great questions, awesome answers.

I loved it. 26 minutes of pure bjj knowledge.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed it! it really was an honor to just be there to hear him talk candidly about the sport. being a very active competitor, almost every single question I had was answered throughout the interview.

Didn't find out about this seminar until the night before, otherwise I would have been there. This interview is great.

do you train around the area? the seminar was amazing. it opened up a ton of options for my butterfly and rnc game. he's such a friendly person and rolled with all of the purple-brown belts who attended. thanks man, I know matt worked very hard on asking questions that would pertain to almost every bjj practitioner.

Yes, I'm in Clearwater. I've been to Marcelo seminars in St. Augustine and Hollywood, FL, but those were years ago. Matt did a great job on the interview, and it's always a pleasure to hear Marcelo talk about BJJ. So much passion.

Great interview.

I love what he had to say about training time and getting better. It seems a lot of guys have a disbelief that it's so simple. They worry that they're not improving, that there's some secret.

Marcelo shows why you should have faith. You want to get good at BJJ, train BJJ a lot. Keep training and you'll get good.

with de lima? I hear he's a great instructor and person. he really does have that champion, driven aura about him that's awe inspiring. I was able to speak to him for a while afterward and all his views are eye opening. simple, driven mindset, battle hardened confidence, a true champion.

that's what is so awesome about his mindset. most people coming up believe you have to be completely up to date with every new technique and revolve your gameplan around all the new ideas coming around. however, it's really just out training everyone and developing your game more than everyone else. all the other intricacies and new techniques will come with time.
