Australia has the most backwards approach to regulating content. I recently did a uni assignment on the CSA's (classification body) framework and it's totally contradictory to the point of lunacy. Their code principles state that "adults should be able to see, hear and watch any contet they like", however the board then bends over backwards and applies any of the stupid content restrictions independent lobbyists bring to their attention without the input of the public or any board representing the rights of the public. It's a one way street. You can only call it a big brother whom decideds what grown fucking people are allowed to view or hear without any compromise.

We recently introduced an R18+ classification for games and 2 have already been banned: Saints Row 4 and some other title I can't think of. You know why? Because the player collects a completely fictitious illicit drug. One genius on the board decided, on behalf of the 20 million Australians, that adults shouldn't be able to play a game where the player is 'rewarded' for or has an incentive to collect drugs--whether they are real representations or not.

This small tit nonsense is typical. Some idiot child safety lobyests decided small tits MUST breed pedophiles. The board would have quickly decided to back the notion in fear they'd be pedophiles themselves for dismissing the idea. No one had the brains to think this might be insulting to the small-fitted women of the world, or labelling the guys who are seeing them 'pedophiles'.

I wish we had a consumerist group or appeals board with the common interest of the public to counter such nonsense. This shit would never fly in America.
