Audio: Brock Lesnar on WWE not supporting his UFC return

Dude could be set for life fake-fighting and he wants to test himself in a cage against a legit striker for less than what he makes on t-shirts in a year.

You don't have to like him, but how can you not respect him?

No idea why you think Brock is making "less than what he makes on t-shirts in a year." ...

He will make way more in this fight (maybe 2x) what he makes all year in WWE

Exactly! I'm sure he's gonna walk away with PPV cut on top of a big base payout. If UFC 200 does anywhere around 1.5 million buys, Mr. Lesnar will likely walk away with over $2,500,000.00 USD and upward of that. All for a few rounds of fighting. That's likely what he makes all year at the WWE. He doesn't appear as much in WWE, but he works a hell of a lot harder for his cash in the WWE taking hellacious bumps.

It's so weird to me when people talk about rasslin like it's something real. I can't explain it, it's like I'm in some alternate reality and I'm the only one who isn't part of something. It's like I'm the only one who knows it's fake.

You are about 25% of what he most likely walks away with ;)
You basically cut his old UFC pay in half & he has a far better bargaining position now

They were guaranteeing Conor $10m for UFC 200 & Brock & his team know that & had all the negotiating power!

Yeah perhaps you're right. I underestimated how much he was initially making. Now that he can make 10 million and more he may just jump back in full swing if he manages to win. His net worth is currently 16 million. If he fights for a couple more years with an even better contract he would be swimming in cash. The WWE is probably harder on the body than MMA in the long run too.

Its cool.
He does not wrestle that much in his current WWE role though.
Most times he just destroys his opponent.
He shows up like 30x a year & only wrestles maybe 6 & only 3 are maybe longer give & take matches.

He's definitely got it made if he can manager to keep his role as a crossover success. Wrassle a few times a year and make millions, fight once a year and make millions. And both the UFC and WWE profit from it. Everyone is happy. I personally don't care if I ever see the guy fight again myself. For some reason, the very fighters that rake in casual fans are the least interesting to me. I'm much more invested in a fight like say...... RDA vs. Alvarez than I am for Hunt vs. Lesnar. But whatevs, as long as he's bringing bigger PPV numbers so that everyone else on the card that gets a cut of the PPV gets paid bigger, I'm cool with it.

DC, Jones & Tate must be very happy that Lesnar signed on to UFC 200

We know DC is:

When the story broke that Lesnar was being added to the show, and before it came out who is opponent was, Cormier immediately texted the current WWE star.

He said he wrote, "Hey Brock, is it Christmas time in the Cormier household, because Brock Lesnar means pay-per-view buys?"

"He didn't respond," said Cormier.

Then, after the commercial played with Lesnar on it, he got a response.

"Merry Christmas, DC," it read.

With 3 title fights (all of the champs have PPV clauses) plus Lesnar's payout, I wonder even if the UFC breaks records with this show, how profitable is it really gonna be for the UFC after payouts? I'm sure it'll be a lot, but jeez, after all the PPV cuts going to 4 different people, one has to wonder.

Either way, it'll be even more profitable in the long run. Lots of talent on this card will get some spotlight time for more casual viewers. That's good for them and the UFC. This is DEFINITELY the card everyone wants to be on.

Of course they don't like it, but they still gave him the go ahead.

At the point where they pay big money on the PPV cut, it is all gravy
They will make more with Lesnar bumping up everyone's points then without him though.
I also think this is a lesson to Conor too.
Brock said he was thinking about MSG & Zuffa asked him for UFC 200 ... ;)

It defies logic, but every day here there are haters upon haters

I think most people overall give him respect for stepping into the cage, but there are a few that it doesn't matter. I'm rooting for Hunt, one of my all time favorites, but wouldn't upset me if Brock won neither.

This rumors are brock getting 15 mil. That's like twice what wwe pays him a year.

Yeah, the Conor McGregors on the world are nothing more than trending fads that come and go. The UFC doesn't need Conor to keep the show moving forward, but Conor without the UFC will be broke before he reaches his 40's and looking to write a book, or do cameo appearances to rake in a little bit of change to prevent going back to plumbing.
