ATTN: UFC Owners. Wanna Bring Back Fan Interest? Bring Back Tourneys

Stupid thread/it ain’t happening. Guys can hardly make it to one fight a year and you expect them to fight 3-4 times in a short amount of time. I don’t want to see prime fighters like Rampage get demolished because they are always fighting injured in pointless tournaments.
Definitely not pointless. It actually fills a dual role. It gives entertainment value for the fans who want that, and legitimacy to the fans who wish that rankings mattered. I've read a few posts here sayings that rankings matter, but do they? If that were the case, would an unranked fighter be challenging for the HW belt? A tourney settles the matter. The two most deserving fighters fight in the final.

As far as getting them to actually fight and stay in, it's apparent that they'd give handsome locker room bonuses to the fighters who make it so far.

And, the tourneys don't have to play out for months and months either. One card for quarterfinal, semis and final can be held three or four months later on the same card. This is possible, bc Bellator has been doing that.

Tournament format is not stupid, BTW. There are an enormous amount of fans who adore the format and wish for it's return. It is realistically the best way to decide who the best is, bc the ranking system is flawed, it doesn't take much to see that.

See, you believe you are being smart by thinking that "USADA" is the thing I am missing but in fact you are just blind and arrogant (which is why you keep using pics and gifs) to try to dismiss people.

See, the fact that Brock Lesnar is allowed to keep fighting after continually being caught taking roids proves that the UFC using USADA is nothing more than a publicity stunt to act legit.

Please, post yet again without actually defending your idiotic post.
continually being caught taking roids???

Uhh... they decided the 125lb #1 contender with a tournament

Just crowned a 125lb women's champ with a tournament.

Nobody gave a shit. OP disproven.
Those were on TUF, and nobody cares about unranked nobodies, nor WMMA. Those who want to see a GP want the best to take part.

if you include the champ in the tourney it's as if you're taking away his championship. in a tournament everyone starts 0-0.

if you don't include the champ, how long does he wait (or who does he fight in the meantime?)

That was a great way to show you dont know the sport...Lesnar got that title shot back in 2008, back when most people thought MMA was the next big thing in legit sports and not the side show it is today where an 0-1 vs an 0-1 (Punk/Jackson) gets placed on the main card while Alistar mother fucking Overeem is put on the undercard because the UFC needs mouth-breather WWE fans to buy PPVs coupled with Dana White thinking Overeem is no longer a contender due to shit boxing ranking systems.

Thanks for trying though!

Other promotions do not employ USADA.

....did you seriously need that pointed out? Your lack of reading comprehension is depressing me.

You are 10 posts behind on the discussion and have shown you are not up to speed on what is being said. In other words, you are being an idiot.

1, single person getting away doesn't invalidate the legitimacy of the USADA

It does if it makes your point invalid.

Also...you still had to use a photo after it being pointed out how weak it makes you look? ROFLMAO!

Talk about being a bottom feeder.

So basically his argument is because there was an allegation that USADA knowingly let Brock fight after testing positive for PED, it completely invalidate their legitimacy. Thus UFC is just like the other promotions which don't have a strict drug testing in place.

Uranked nobodies?

Pantoja was widely considered one of the best 125'ers in the world going into that season of TUF, was seeded #1, and is currently ranked #8 by the UFC. Meanwhile, the guy who beat him on the show (Hiromasa Ogikubo) is fighting Horiguchi next in Rizin.

Please elaborate

I don't think one can debate with him. He argues with himself. Typical modern idiot who can't even articulate his own scattered thoughts with any purpose or direction.

Do you have any idea how am i supposed to interpret this?

You're too dim witted to even comprehend that you were explicitly contradicting yourself in your own scatterbrained argument, but keep filling up your fragile ego by calling everyone else here a moron, little girl.

Yes. twice for PCTs just before UFC 200 and he was given a wave by the UFC to SKIP TESTING for 4 months leading up to that allowing him to basically keep roiding up while training.

You do not take PCTs unless you are doing steroids.

You left out the opening of my post just for an excuse to disrupt the thread.

UFC hasnt been a legit sport in years and that is why they brought Lesnar back.

Time, guess its too hard of a concept for a brainless twat like you to understand. Its idiots like you that give Sherdog its shit reputation.

Are you solely referring to TUF? That's because it's a bunch of amateurs showing home tapes and bitching at eachother.

It's all great until someone gets injured and a replacement comes in and fucks up the flow.

That's why they don't do it

It rarely works.
Only because they want their cherry picked contenders to win. One of the great things about tourneys is alternates jumping in and mixing things up.

We've had enough fights where one guy falling out and you lose the bout off the card. At least with alternates you still get to watch *a* fight.
