Does anyone have any experience with this gi?

Budovideos.com - Atama NEW Gold Weave Kimono - BLACK

I was thinking of getting it, but I only see people talk about their Mundial models, how do these compare to those?

My other choices are a Vulkan Pro Light, Isami gi, or a Bull Terrier gi.. not sure which to go with. Can't find much info on the Isami and Bull Terrier's, anyone know what type of body type they'd fit better?
I hope they're not like Keiko, because I don't really like how mine(Budovideos.com - Keiko Raca Navy Limited Edition Special Gi) fits.

All advice would be helpful, thanks.

Ya, I've had an Atama Gi like that b4, and to be honest i dont' really like atamas. I don't like the 2 pieces of fabric used for the top. So for this reason alone i wouldn't get this, its so outdated... as for vulkan pro light i wouldn't go with that either because the pants will rip in literally a few training sessions... if you call the company they will even admit it themselves. I've tried. To be honest, i've trained in many Gis, and the coolest looking would be the shoyoroll, but if you are looking for the best bargain, top quality for an affordable price and aren't worried about the fake hype they put on for the gis, i'd go with a Submission Gi. I have one myself and they're awesome! They were only like $80 so i had to buy 2! Try them out.

Go with Fuji Gis, best value in the market from a brand with a long history of quality. They go for about $68.95 for a white single weave and they are definitely not a case of 'get what you pay for'. They come with patches which you can apply if thats your thing or you can slap them on your gym bag. Recommend one to a teammate that was shopping for a new gi on a budget and he couldn't be happier.

Atama's have a good reputation, some of the longest standing and most popular gi's around. Shop around though before deciding on one gi only.

Atama has never let me down. They are a very trusted and durable brand. I have an old style double weave from 2000 thats still usable! Good stuff!

i like mine, except for the seams. i prefer a single piece gi without crappy back seam. i tend to get sore spots from it so i wear it in the winter with a shirt underneath

the mundial is a lighter weight pearl weave, with one piece construction. their gold weave i think still uses 2 piece construction, not sure. also, the mundial comes with ripstop pants. i'm not at all a fan of rip stop, but i have to say that the atama ripstops are THE BEST ripstop pants i've ever worn. they're softer and more broken in than others, not so papery. very nice.

the mundial really is a beautiful gi. i don't own one myself (i had their summer gi w/ ripstop pants), but a couple guys in my club have them and they're quite nice. they're really quite beautiful -- more so in person than in the photographs.

they're on sale now at atama's website. 135 shipped is a steal.

I have an Atama Mundial 9 in white and it is the best gi that I have. I'm going to buy a few more in white and blue.

I have a White Atama Mundial #5 and Blue Mundial #5 and a Black Mundial #9

They are all awesome Gi's. The only real difference is that black one has rip stop pants.

I don't have any complaints about my Atama Gi's. They are the most popular Gi in my gym by a long shot. 2nd most of the Gracie Barra Gi only because we are a GB school, however no one likes the GB Gi's. I think they only buy them for the patches.

Hello -

You can't go wrong with an Atama kimono. They are expensive, but they are also built to last. If this is your first Gi you might want to start with a less expensive one.

thanks a ton for the info. for someone who can only really afford one of them which one would you reccomend between the shoyoroll or the submission?
