At what point does the belt not justify #1 ranking?

When you have someone like Yoel, who is undefeated for years with quality top wins over guys like Machida, Kennedy, and Jacare..ranked below Bisping.. And Rockhold.. Like wtf?
I understand the ufc tries to save face promoting the champion.. But why do the other rankings follow suit?

Who was the last non ufc champ to hold a #1 spot... Fedor?
 
For what it's worth, jacare beat yoel in my opinion. Yoel should not be#1
 
Pretty sure Fedor also Shogun back when Chuck and Rampage were champs.

The UFCs crooked ratings.
There needs to be an unbias NON ufc rating system. But you have to set the criteria for the rankings also. And i dont think thats been done.
The UFC is all about popularity and just bleed stuff IMO so i wouldnt trust em at all.

Unfortunately, you have to do you own.

Yeah I guess my biggest gripe is how everyone else just follows the ufc rankings.. I suppose they fear they will look like a joke siding against them.. Which just further proves how much the ufc is illegally monopolizing the market
 
Could have something to do with the gift decision vs Jacare, stool antics vs Kennedy AND the failed drug test but hey what do I know
 
Fedor was still ranked first over Brock and Randy when they held ufc belts
 
Who knows? At UFC 200 alone you have a champion fighting the interim champion at LHW even though the interim champ has beat the champ, then you have a fight for another interim title at FW on the same card. Then the only legit champ has lost to a girl in her division twice, but she beat the girl who beat her so who the fuck knows who is number one there.

In closing, rankings don't mean anything. That's why they fight in the end.

I think Jones is currently. So it's when the guy holding the belt is clearly not as good as someone who is in another promotion or doesn't have the belt due to a technicality. Right now Bisping is the best in the world. He is on a great win streak since losing to the guy he just beat. He isn't a decisive underdog to any of the guys you mention, Bisping is on top of his game and I think he's the best MW right now.

So your saying if he didn't stall against Kennedy he would be ranked above the champion?

His drug test didn't overturn the decision, and no ranking system I've ever seen has gone against an official decision
 
It doesn't really mean anything, this is common sense. If Pooh Dick the Dickwad made his UFC debut and KOd McGregor would that actually mean anything? There is a reason "you're not the champ until you defend the belt" and then you need to do it a few times to really be "the Champ".

Griffon, Rashad, Serra, etc.

Im one of the view that actually defended Bisping and gave him a legit chance to beat Rockhold.. And he might he the best MW currently.. But with multiple losses in recent years, I just think a belt doesn't overcome that.

That's a bunch of garbage anyway. I view all those guys as legit former champions
 
Bisping knocked out the best middleweight in the world in the first round. What more do you want?

Noting.. Pretty sure if we dig through our posts we ill find a lot more pro Bisping posts on my side than yours if we go back a few weeks.
