Developing situation. Looks like the gunman killed himself. Not clear whether it was a student/former student at this time but ten causalities unfortunately.

It happened in a so called “Gymnasium” which in Austria/Germany, or Central Europe, is a higher/better kind of high school. Mostly focuses on languages and/or natural sciences. With this school you “must” proceed an academic education.

This means if its a former student the chances that it was a imigrant and/or muslim shrink close to zero. Even if kids of imigrants/muslims make like 50% in the city, in a Gymnasium their share shrinks to less than 5% in average.

Regardless of any of that, I never think of immigrants when it's a school shooting or a similar attack like that. It always screams bullied white kid coming back to exempt revenge or something along those lines.

The shooters name is Artur A. and with that the immigrant+Muslim is back in the game. Artur without H (Arthur) sounds very much like a Chechen or Caucasus guy.

It's used across Europe including far West places like Portugal. It's quite common there, so at this point I don't think anything can be ruled out, Austrian or otherwise.

I don't know if I don't grasp this concept when I hear it. People cheer when the police shoot and kill them. They cheer when the death penalty is enforced. But the guy kills themselves and its not considered justice? The end result is the same in either of those three scenarios. The only difference would be being arrested and convicted. Unless they get life in prison why do we feel the need to prolong that persons life just to tell them they were a bad person before killing them ourselves? Just a thought I've always had.

As writen above, the shooters name was according to my information Artur. Artur is not a very popular name in Austria and if a boy would still get this name then it would be ArtHur in 99,9% and not Artur.

I personally know a Chechen from Austria called Artur, and we also all know Artur Beterbiev.

The chance that you have an Portugese Artur in Austria is most probably 10X lower than that you have a Chechen Artur.

However, as writen in my firstpost, this was a better School for better studends, so there is of course a chance that he was portugese or even Austrian without H. I guess its maybe more realistic than a Chechen with good grades.
