I heard Buster Olney say yesterday that the union would have appealed any player suspension and dragged the process out all year. The owners thought that would have been more damaging to the sport in the long run, which is why they didn't suspend any player.
The Union is protecting the players that cheated, but not the players that got cheated. Pathetic.
MLB needs some serious suspensions / bans to maintain credibility.
