People are missing a very important part of the story here.

Similar to the story that is being reported about Jones, where the NSAC contact the UFC and not the fighter, the NSAC didn't contact Evans-Smith in this case either.

Shouldn't the commission be notifying the fighter of said failed drug test before notifying the promotion or never notifying the fighter and having to have the promotion do it.

If I take drug test for my job I never hear if I passed and assume if I were not to that my employer would be the one to get the results not me.

Your employer is the one administering your test. In the case of a sport like MMA, it is an outside athletic commission that is administering the test.

And as stated in the article, if a test if failed the athlete must to a hearing with the commission. The athlete should be informed by the commission.

He didn't break any rules and wasn't supposed to be tested for that so maybe since the rules were not broken they are not obligated to tell him.

Failed drug tests are reported to two parties primarily: the commission (NSAC in this instance) and the person failing the test (the fighter). The commission then passes the info down to the UFC. So in theory, Evans-Smith SHOULD'VE been told by the commission.

If you're gonna fail for flowers, at least do it properly and fail for poppies.
