Matt Serra and Ray Longo are two of the best in the business orrr are they?? Going into the 3rd and final round Longo advises chris not to take a step back, to move forward now after he was fighting masterfully in the first two rounds. Chris looked really good and really crisp in his striking and his striking defense. Granted it was against jacare but still.

To advise chris to not take a step back and to just keep moving forward was maybe the worst advice i have ever heard from a corner in all my years of watching mma!

They should have advised him to stick and move like he had been doing the entire fight! Shame on Longo!

They were afraid that the judges might score for Jacare if he kept moving back. Personally, I felt like the right thing for Weidman to do was to keep boxing, but grab hold of Jacare and tie him up whenever he started brawling. I think that might have been the ticket.

They were also telling him at some point to go for a td when they were pressed against the cage...

You really wanna be on the ground with jacare?

Weidman is an overrated can

Overrated? im not a huge weidman fan but his run to winning the title was ONE of the best runs in the history of the sport. If you want to say past his prime i would agree with that.

He's not past his prime. This fight and the Rockhold fight are the best shape he's ever been in. His level of competition stepped up

I know I'm going to sound like a hater, but I've never really been impressed with the Serra Longo guys. No hate, they're all really good guys. I can't put my finger on it, but they've just always seemed like a b league camp to me.

Serra and Longo are crap in the corner. They love to drop the tough guy sound bites. It's pathological. They might be good coaches but they are consistently piss poor in the corner.

he said that after the title his competition has stepped up and are you asking how he can say that? really?

Rockhold, Romero, Mousasi and Jacare > Lawlor, Munoz, Sakara, Maia and another one which name i don't even remember.

I wouldn't even say past his prime. Just one of the few who had a big disadvantage with the iv ban

I believe a fighter can never be in “the best shape of their life” after fighter has had multiple injuries and surgeries. maybe our opinions differ
