He obviously watches a lot of boxing(he took some stuff from roy jones and foreman) he needs to look at how Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko keep shoving the left jab in the opponents face. Wlad even slaps the opponents jab hand down sometimes, I dont know if thats illegal in mma though. Him and Jackson should have spend all that time developing a strong jab for Jones, it is kinda unacceptable not to have that with his reach. The fingers scare the opponent away from attacking, but a strong jab can be almost as effective. If you ever sparred a tall guy with a long piston like jab you would know, it makes you second guess and not attack as much.

First Struve and now him. Learn how to use the most important punch in boxing already, perhaps the most important strike in all combat sports.

Pawing ain't illegal, Jones has poked 3 opponents 1 times each.

People can cry some more and hopefully Jones does it even more to facilitate more butt hurt. Best thing Jones knows how to do other than kicking people's favorite fighters' asses.

Listen, a great jab is going to do a lot more for him in the long run. You do a lot more than just keep your opponent at bay with it, read up or watch some instructional videos. Plus it will look a lot better.

I watched that infamous deduction card the other day. At one point i think it's mario yam, he stops the fight as one fighter grabs the fence and the other the shorts. Shorts guy got the point.

anyway, yea, jones, what a beast, right guys? i mean, just wow...

I agree with TS, I am/was a huge fan, but lately I simply lost interest, because the eye-pokes is just so annoying to watch.

He is am AMAZING fighter, no question, but those open gloves where the opponent has to risk getting poked in the eyes every time he attacks, just makes his fights less exiting in my eyes.

It's all part of his game and defense, the knee kicks are the same, it keeps :eek::eek::eek::eek:s from moving forward. Don't fix what's not broken, the belt is still fastened over 3 years now.

Are you saying that you can't blame fighters for a fault in the rules, or that you prefer the rules this way?

In your ideal MMA, would facilitating and threathening with fouls should be an integral part of a fighter's game?

How can people defend this technique? While being technically legal, its an obvious loophole in the rules. If your using a technique where if your opponent moves in to attack it can seriously injure them or blind them, then there's a big issue. To make its worse its not like he does it just defensively, he moved forward on Glover with his fingers extended right at eye level.

He's been getting worse and worse every fight with it, just a matter of time before one of his opponents gets seriously injured/blinded. Would be hilarious to see him lose his belt to a DQ loss for poking.

No other champ in he history of the sport needed a gameplan based around the threat of eye pokes to be dominant, its disgusting
