I heard it phrased succinctly before but I can't remember the exact wording, but in terms of arm/elbow/shoulder positioning relative to your opponent, isn't the rule something like if one person's elbow is higher than the other's, they're winning the position? It's something loosely like that, looking for clarity.
 
I've seen it described as the person who's shoulder is higher has the stronger position in the past.
 
think it depend son the position standing vs hg for instance

standing theirs lots of good attacks you can land off a whizzer

from hg top if im whizzering im either trying to snap into a front headlock and work passes/chokes or trying to stuff the head re pummel

No. Imo its about footwork. Lets say you have a whizzer. I can valley drop and such. But with a whizzer I can use flying scissors and such. They both have different options.
