Artem Vahtiko thinks Pereira isn’t that good of a striker

What if the UFC just matches them up? Just say fuck it and see if he can back up his words? Would be sweet tbh. After Poatan KOs Ank he would have cleaned out the division.

He will definitely get the push like Pereira did but he's probably still going to have to beat a top 10 fighter to get there. Maybe they will feed Khalil to him after he fights a couple low level guys.

Sure, but would fans care if he got moved straight into a title fight because of their history lol? I don’t think so, the fighters would but that’s it.

I think I’ll revisit his opinion after he’s tried out some UFC.

He's gonna have to prove he can fight, Alex has a BJJ black belt.

I like when an up and coming fighter says he wants to be the Champ and fight the Champ...

But dude is literally in the Jr. Varsity currently and is talking shit about the Champ, rather than saying anything about his own ambitions.

I loved Vakhitov in KB but I don't think he is any good in MMA:

If he beats 4 opponents, including 1 top 5 (the same path taken by Poatan to earn a title shot) I'm ok with it.

Either he's talking shit or he's just an idiot.

I always hated this quote. There aren't 10,000 different kicks to practice.

And even if there were, who the hell practices a move ONCE and never again? And then does that 9,999 more times?
I bet Bautista practiced that dry-hump move for more than 9.999 times the way that he used it

Btw funny thing about the Artem fights is Artem got robbed in their first fight, then Alex got robbed on their second fight.
It should be 1-1, but inverted.

I've disliked it as well but for a different reason.

I've trained MT for 20 years and in a good training sessions, 1000 kicks on the bag and the pads is not very unusual. 10,000 kicks is 10 training days. You're not going to become a proficient kicker by doing 10,000 repetitions of any kick or punch. There's nothing to fear from someone practicing one strike only so few times. The thai's train their round kicks millions of times throughout their careers to be as good as they are. Even if you are doing just 100 per session, which is beginner level, it'll only take 100 days to reach 10,000. You're not going to become a good, let alone lethal fighter in less than a year.

I understand the idea behind the quote, but the number is sooo far away from the real number you would need repeat so you can kick proficiently, that it just silly.

That’s just like his opinion man, also he could be hanging out with Izzy and Joe Duffy at a bar saying “I beat that guy once”

Sure but if the quote was "one million times" vs "one million kicks" the people getting upset about the literalism behind "but there aren't a 10k kicks" would have even more justification to complain.

I'm fine with the quote. Obviously it isn't literal. Who cares. "Specialization reigns supreme" is the concept and in that sense it is 100% accurate.

He's watched him while beating him lol.
Since Artem was referring to MMA then so am I!

With a record of 2-1 with his most recent win over a guy with a 0-1, I thought he'd want to do something in the sport before taking shots.

Well, he's taking his shots now because he knows if he doesn't Alex will be retired long he can reach him in MMA. Heck, if Vak has to work his way up the ranks, he'll probably be retired himself before he gets there lol.
