Can anyone recommend me a pure armbar instructional? Im just a beginner and basically want to focus strictly on the most basic submissions before I start adding in other submissions and learning them from every angle.

note: I already have the ryan hall triangle instructional and it is pretty good so far and I have a slew of other videos but none focus strictly on applying/escaping the armbar.

    Thanks in advance!

There's a Roy Harris dvd that covers the straight armlock. I haven't seen it, but I assume it is detailed as his other dvds.

Carlos Machado's set is for you. 6 DVDs 1 of which goes over nothing but the armbar from guard. How to set it up from different defensive postures your opponent takes, how to break the opponents grip, and how to counter all of their potential counters and flow into other armbars.

In that set there is also a mount section which covers a bunch of different ways to set up the armbar from there. One of those tips pretty much changed my entire mount game. Good stuff.

Not to go off optic but the arm bar is as basic move and your instructor should be able to show you in class and since it is in person be able to trouble shoot on the spot. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, all students should know every detail about armbars. you shouldn't have to look for armbar instructionals.

Sorry I didn't answer your question, but that is just my opinion.
