This fight seems to be a gimme for Arlovski. I cant see any possible way Mir can get the win, AA's TDD is too good and he will keep the fight standing and IMO get the KO in the first. Does anyone have faith in Mir? And if AA gets the win where will it leave both fighters? A win over Mir wont warrant a title shot if the UFC didn't want to give it to him now and should Mir look at retirement if he does get badly knocked out? Either way, it seems like it will be a tough night for Mir.

Puncher's chance, especially in the heavyweight division. But you already know this. Going by technical skill, Mir is still a dangerous man on the ground, and his boxing improved. Arlovski has some of the heavyweight hands in heavyweight history and his takedown defense is vastly underrated. I like Arlovski to win via TKO.

I think this is a flip if the coin, probably even give slight edge to Mir.
Simply because arlovski has a glass jaw. He may beat on Mir for a while, but if Mir can get one half descent shot in, I think it'll put AA away.

AA has proven he has a great jaw. Mir has a shot with his heavy hands but if aa fights smart he won't get the chance to land anything before getting lit up.

Arlovski TKO. Mir has a puncher's chance that's it. He is not winning the stand up battle and is not taking AA down.

I've got Arlovski by KO as well. He is way too fast. But don't count out Mir. He has a horse shoe up his arse he can pull out any time.

I think Mir would be losing the fight but manages to TKO Arlovski or do something similar to the Kongo fight.

Mir will be wobbling like crazy before AA puts his lights out.

Obviously, this fight has a nostalgia hype into it already for people that remember when they were supposed to fight the first time. So, for that I've been wanting to see it for years, but now the timing just seems strange and I don't really feel it.

It could turn into a wild brawl or it could end up looking something like Cro Cop/Mir.

I'm assuming Arlovski is gonna win but his "victory" over Schaub is still fresh in my mind. If he comes in like that again he loses.

Arlovski on paper is a better striker

    BUT

So were Kongo, Duffee, Nog, Cro Cop, and Mir beat all them with his striking. (well, ok, technically he subbed Kongo but come on, we all saw how it went down... literally)

Mir isn't afraid to mix it up on the feet with better strikers. He's pretty fearless, he's competent enough to survive against guys like Overeem and Cormier despite being outclassed, and he packs a solid punch.

For a guy like Arlovski, who has shown major fight IQ lapses and a questionable chin, this is a VERY dangerous fight. Mir won't be gunshy, and he can bang. Arlovski needs to really mind his P's and Q's and who knows how the threat of Mir's ground game might affect his striking.

I'm not saying I'm picking Mir, I think it's a pick 'em fight, but if you really look at how they've both performed, I'm saying it's pretty poor analysis to count Mir out.

It's a coin toss, especially if Mir goes for broke like in the duffe fight.

Mir always has a chance. He's got KO power and one of the best sub games at HW.

Both guys in this fight have sketchy chins. Each guy has been (T)KOed 7 times.

Arlovski should absolutely be the favorite to win and particularly favored in the stand up, but Mir has made a career out of embarrassing people who wrote him off.
