First off...the fight AA put on with Big Ben was a classic! If you haven't watched, you're missing out! Right after that, AA knocked the living shit out of Big Country! That's just incredible to KO these guys back to back.

That being said, how do you see rematches going if they were to fight again in the UFC?

I'm not going to count out the Pit Bull, but if say he likely loses both fights in the same brutal fashion he won them. Hes just not that same vicious, powerful, fearless fighter that he once was. He doesn't throw combinations like he used to or swarm relentlessly.

How do you all envision these fights going if they took place again today?

Probably loses to both of them to be frank.

People don't give the AA that went in vs. Fedor due credit. He was on a fuckin tear and the resume going into that fight is holding up quite well.

I think he loses to big country but could still beat Big Ben.

That was back when Nelson used his ground game rofl!

He was lighting Fedor up. He was definitely winning that fight until he lost.

lmao no he wasn't. There is slow motion videos showing how his punches all missed. Also the fight only lasted like 3 minutes. You can't say you were winning shit when you get KO'd in 3 minutes into the first round.

He was winning the round to that point. His offense is overstated but he was definitely winning the round until the credits instantly rolled. He landed some nice offense. Fedor's offense was the end.

The point is, that loss destroyed AA. Arlovski was at his peak at that time. Better than he was as UFC champ. They guy played russian roulette with himself after the loss and has been somewhat gun shy since.

Yea, that Arlovski was a scary dude. He was ranked #2 and had just knocked out two of the toughest heavyweight dudes in Rothwell and Roy Nelson. Fedor stole his soul. He was never the same after that. And thus began the long campaign to discredit Fedor's win over him. Meanwhile Roy Nelson and Rothwell have gone on to claim some pretty big scalps of their own.

Honestly big country KO's Andrei inside 2 minutes. He'll get tagged repeatedly but Andrei can't handle Roy's new found power.

You seem to think I'm hating on Fedor or something.. I'm not. Just saying Arlovski landed some good punches and was, in my opinion, ahead at the point he was KO'd.

He shouldn't have gotten overzealous and left his feet , he leapt right into fedor's punch. In hindsight it would have been interesting had that fight gone on a bit later.

To clarify, he leapt (for the flying knee) and THEN Fedor punched him out of the air.

AA had the ability to KO Fedor at that time. Had he connected with a huge shot and beat Fedor, AA may have been on top for much longer.

To Fedor's credit, AA was a very quality win at that time. And I rarely give Fedor credit. I typically don't think he deserves the praise he gets.

You just better hope that Bigfoot destroys Arlovski, cuz if Arlovski wins he may be next in line for a title shot. And no one needs Cain going away for murder and missing even more time without defending the belt

shame how bad that loss to fedor changed him, hell's he even beat werdum who's fighting for the title soon.

Overeem was winning against Travis Browne or Manhoef against Lawler. Plenty of guys have been winning big for 3 minutes then got turned to dust.

Some people on here somehow seem to be able to twist Big Ben knocking out The Reem into Arlovski being a serious contender for the title. Please stop.

#2? Really ? I don't think he would of been ranked that high.

I think approximately nobody in this thread has said that. Not even the OP. He merely asked and then offered his own opinion...which was no, he's not.

I wasn't talking about this thread per se, but this is like one of 10 about Arlovski KO'ing Big Country and Big Ben in the last 2 days. But hey I like people talking about the HW division again, the UFC hasn't been giving it a lot of love lately.
