Ariel Trying to Turn this Sport into Boxing.

If I remember right he had fractured vertebrae in his neck or something. He had a serious injury and was smart to quit

For anyone who thinks boxing is this sport where you can just quit and no one gets mad:

And this is someone quitting when he was physically broken and could easily have been killed.

Ariel is a casual who tried to leave this sport several times already.

If a fighter can't trust his own corner to look out for him and his best interest then he needs to boot them. I know it's the trainers job to make their fighter push and give them confidence etc.. But being a cheerleader does not include letting your guy take unnecessary punishment when it's obvious to all that he is done.

We saw it in the last Smith fight... "my teeth are falling out". So corners response... Send him back in to get beat on some more... While his opponent apologizes for doing his job and hitting him more. Sure the fighter could tap out as soon as the round starts but why make them even go out if they tell u repeatedly that they are done.

It's a trainers job to know their fighter... It doesn't seem like in either case they were doing their job or having their fighters best interest in mind. Winning gets them more money and notariety but it doesn't make them a good trainer when they risk a guy's health and future on a miricle come from behind win. Even Tony's last fight went too long. It was more understandable tho as Tony was not saying he was done or wanted out like the others.

And why should the corner deny this wish?

Aren't they supposed to act in his best interest?

Maybe they were acting in his interest? He wasn't hurt bad and was mentally weak. His career in the UFC is probably done now. He probably quits like this in training too. His coaches know him better than we do.

Many have died in the boxing ring

MMA is a lot safer

It's the fighters fault as much as the corner.

The fighter can verbally or literally tap out at any point in the fight or between rounds.

He just wanted his corner to do it for him so that he wouldn't look like a bitch.

What 'fault' are you referring to? When his corner didn't stop it he told an official first chance he got

Rampage broke his rib in the fight against Shogun, and told his corner (Team Oyama) and they did not listen to him,so he ditched them.
