As a journalist you can't be all matey/chums/freinds with the ones you are reporting on
I think this is how the ariel situation has happened, you can't be "on the inside" you have to be separate

I think as mma is a new sport ariel was close with Dana etc and this caused friction over time as its two different priorities clashing

Remember when there were all the ariel and Dana chats like two buddies joking around etc?

Maybe this is the turning point for mma media

Also surely as a pro journalist doesn't ariel et al have a bit of a legal case against ufc?

You can't just ban a journalist

Ariel is a little bitch. He would stab his own mother in the liver to break a story first.

UFC is acting poorly. They don't have to credential him as their events are their events. Ariel did nothing out of line journalism wise, he reported some stories that didn't fit the UFCs wants, but as a journalist you are supposed to have an oath to report the truth.

The only thing you could blame Ariel for is the whole posting a Nose thing after he beat the UFC to the punch. In that regards he was rubbing it in and not necessarily acting in the most professional manner. At the same time, banning someone for reporting the truth is a joke and exactly why the UFC never had any chance to reach the level of the big four sports, they aren't run by credible ppl.

All these media credentials come with a condition that it can be revoked anytime. IS the UFC doing something illegal? Nah, but they can be shamed to changing to their mind. How is this going to help their situation? Now Helwani's even more motivated to break stuff.
