Ariel’s details on why Jones vs Tom fell thought

I find very hard to believe that the UFC didnt threw Jones under the bus when they accepted whatever money he wanted to fight Aspinall, and he says no the day after, very hard to believe, they are PETTY AF.

Also, you cant "fell" if you never left ground, if you get what im saying.

The only other person Jones could realistically fight is Alex Pereira. There's no other retired fighters that would come back to face him. Pereira is the only UFC "star" still available to fight Jones (and most importantly it's an easy fight for him, which is what he really wants).

I've been saying this all along. I just hope the UFC don't allow Jones to defend his HW title against Pereira. They can still make the fight for a non-title fight, or some bullshit BMF/"Legend" title they invent. But they had better strip Jones if he won't fight Aspinall.

Gotta love that last part. "Jon is interested in fighting, just not vs Tom Aspinal specificallyl"

Man, if all this is true and Jon turns this down and it's more and more public, this will burn his legacy. Not completely, but it will be a dark cloud. People always remember the end of a career.

i'm a Jones hugger more or less, even though you can find me frequently "liking" comments that are extremely critical of him. I just like to watch him fight. That's basically the end of my interest.

And so here we are.

I just wanted to pick up on "end of his career" and I suppose speak to the sky in complaining why can't he just fight Tom ffs. and if he gets beat well that's it he's done and makes a gigantic payday and hands over the belt to the next generation. Or if he fights Tom and beats him, well then there you go, retire and be happy. Gloat. etc. I guess he just doesn't want to lose, and it is transparent that he knows he would.

Jon holding on to the belt and really hoping for Pereira to beat Ank in the rematch so he can call for Poatan.
he is very likely doing exactly this. if poatan wins, relinquish and do a super fight fuck tom, that will make more money than fighting tom. If poatan loses, you still have the belt and tom is on the table. But poatan is the bigger money fight. just like gane was the bigger money fight, just like Stipe was the bigger money fight.

Because of how Tom has approached him and tried to clown him and to dictate the pace at which the fight happens?

It's really not that farfetched at all LOL

Ehh Tom did that after Jon not giving any indication on what he was going to do for MONTHS. At some point, anyone is gonna get impatient. Nobody was ever trying to pin Jones down to a specific date. What they wanted was a modicum of clarity. The fact he's operated as he has shows this seemed to be his plan all along and has NOTHING to do with how Aspinall has approached it. Jones has committed to plenty of fights where the opponent has clowned him far worse and tried dictating terms. The difference is, Jones knew he was better and was pretty sure of the outcome. This time, he doesn't like his chances.

Imagine trying pretend there’s any credibility left if they did that.

At this point there's so much "Jones is ducking" that Poatan really probably isn't the bigger money fight. Poatan's shine was dimmed a LOT with that last dud. Yes a spectacular KO gets some back to be fair. But Poatan winning a boring decision like Ank did? People will want Tom vs Jones more. They might anyway at this point. The petition, the mainstream media running articles about it. I have casual fans I work with asking me "Hey is this British dude that Jones is scared of actually that good?"

I'm not so sure my man, I mean do we think of Ali beating Liston and Foreman or losing to Trevor Berbick? Anderson Silva kicking Belfort's head off or him losing to Uriah Hall?

I'm as shitty as anyone about Jones ducking Aspinall to be clear, still won't erase what he did in his prime though.

I've accepted that there is no credibility long ago. They do whatever the fuck they want, people eat it up. it is what it is.

Tom will get what he wants, the undisputed title, Jones get what he wants big paydays, easy fights.

And us foolish diehards that want to see the best fight the best are the ones who don't get what we want LOL.

nope, but I've come to terms with it. jones doesn't have to do anything else. Could have retired after any of his last 3 fights and the timing would have felt completely natural.

It's that he "has" to do anything. But dude definitely has known for awhile what his plans are and because he's a cunt he strings everyone along.
