aren't Money Fights, by definition, the fights that most fans are interested in seeing?

how many of these threads are we going to have.. its prize fighting, fighters fight for money so of course they will go after the fight that brings in the most... sherdoggers will whine and complain over anything... if a fighter can make more money im all for it... lets not pretend rankings mean anything when Hendo is fighting for a belt and GUS and many others can get title shots coming off of a loss.

Google prize fighting if you are confused about what i am talking about.

Great fight and you will watch, hand in pants, hoping Hendo gets a 2nd miracle. Ain't going to happen buddeh, The King gets his revenge.

A second miracle? Lol, the first fight was just the better fighter winning!

Well its the casual fans that buy the cards more. Im sure they want to see vin diesel vs the rock in a real fight over mighty mouse vs random guy.

because MMA fans are delusional and think this is a legit sport where match-ups are based on merit rather than how much money UFC can make off the fight

but when you want to stop lying to yourself and think clearly, you will see that MMA is much more like WWE than it is a real sport. UFC controls the belts and the rankings so they can make whatever matches they want, and the hardcore fans complaining on this board will watch anyway. it's not that kind of fan that "big money fights" appeals to, it's to casuals who don't watch every fight and have every fighter's record memorized.
so when UFC makes a big money fight, you don't really have any basis to get angry. it's their belt and their rank, they can do whatever makes most business sense. if you want a real sport, you need to have a sanctioning body that controls the belts and rankings and mandates title holders fight #1 contenders
